Hanoi University of Industry meets with Queenlands University of Technology

Exchange of lecturers, undergraduate and graduate students, cooperation in the training of a Master's program in English language, promoting research cooperation and support from the Australian Department of Education and Training and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam were the main topics of the working session on October 16th between Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and representatives from Queensland University of Technology (Australia).

On behalf of HaUI, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector, Dr. Hoang Ngoc Tue - Dean of Foreign Languages ​​and Dr. Tran Thi Duyen - Deputy Director of Testing Center received the distinguished guests.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the cooperation in the Master's program in English Language, exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, promoting bilateral research collaboration and support from the Australian Department of Education and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Prof. Simone White thanked the school for its warm welcome and said that the cooperation of the two schools was feasible in many areas. "Queensland University of Technology, upgraded from a vocational training school, with many years of building and development has reached the top 50 of the world's leading young universities. The philosophy of education of Queensland University of Technology which is “a university for the real world” is quite similar to the goals and missions of Hanoi University of Industry – focusing on technology and application based training.

Concluding the meeting, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector of HaUI said: "Cooperation with Queensland University of Technology will brings great advantages to the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and HaUI with more opportunities for development including exchange of students, trainees, lecturers, research collaboration strengthened and benefits from resources supported by the Australian Education Ministry and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam. "

Previously, from November 27, 2017 to December 17, 2017, Associate Professor Margaret Kettle of Queensland University of Technology worked with research teams from the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​to develop and evaluate the English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) Curriculum implemented at HaUI. She also collaborated with the department to conduct a series of workshops on the development and evaluation of EOP programs and materials, and foreign language teaching methods.

Hopefully, the cooperation between the two sides will bring fruitful outcomes, contributing to the improvement of the EOP programs and materials, and the implementation of many collaborative research programs.
