Opening Ceremony of the 2017 Laotian Students' Sports Festival in Hanoi

On the morning of March 25th, 2017, Hanoi University of Industry cooperated with the Embassy of Laos in Vietnam to organize the 2017 Laotian Students' Sports Festival in Hanoi. The event gathered 43 training institutions where Laotian students are attending.

Mr. Phomma Sitsena - Ambassador of the Embassy of Laos People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong - General Secretary of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, Ms. Nguyen Lan Anh - Deputy General Secretary Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in Hanoi, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector of HaUI, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Vice Rector and representatives of departments and units of the university as well as a large number of Laotian students from 43 training institutions attended the ceremony.

In her remark at the ceremony, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector of HaUI asserted the close-knit cooperation between Hanoi University of Industry and other training institutions in Vietnam and Laos in particular, and the country of Laos in general has been strengthened, intensified and grown in-depth. Over the past years, the school has been training more than 300 Laotian students with high quality. These students are the bridge connecting the friendship and fostering exchanges between HaUI and educational institutions, as well as Laos.

With 5 sports competitions including badminton, volleyball, Sepak Takraw, tug of war, table tennis, this year's event will take place in 04 days (25th 26th, March, 2017, 01st -02st , April, 2017). This practical activity is to celebrate the 62nd Anniversary of the establishment of Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the traditional New Year celebration Bun Pimay of Laotian people, and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam – Laos diplomatic relations as well as the cooperation between HaUI and Laotian educational institutions, and Laos in the mission to support the training and development of high quality human resources for Lao People's Democratic Republic. The closing ceremony would be at 11:00 on April, 02nd, 2017.
