From 26 July to 1 August 2026, a delegation from Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), led by Assoc. Prof. Kieu Xuan Thuc, President of the University, visited universities and education partners in Shanghai and Macao, China.

The visit formed part of HaUI’s strategy to expand its international network in education, scientific research, innovation and the application of artificial intelligence in higher education.

During the programme, the delegation worked with ClassIn in Shanghai; visited Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Macau University of Science and Technology; and attended a workshop entitled AI and the Future of Higher Education.

Discussions focused on key trends reshaping universities worldwide, including artificial intelligence, smart classrooms, big data, cloud computing and digital platforms for teaching, learning and institutional management.

At Fudan University, the HaUI delegation explored approaches to creating modern learning environments, renewing teaching methods and integrating technology into education and research. The exchange offered valuable perspectives on digital university development, enhanced student experience and the creation of innovation-driven academic ecosystems.

At Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the two institutions presented their respective strengths, research capabilities and internationalisation priorities. They also discussed potential cooperation in engineering, technology, computer science, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, and electrical and electronic engineering.

Areas of shared interest included faculty and student mobility, joint workshops and conferences, collaborative research, and the exchange of experience in higher education digital transformation.

Speaking during the visit, Assoc. Prof. Kieu Xuan Thuc emphasised that the programme provided HaUI with an important opportunity to strengthen connections with reputable education partners in China, learn from advanced models of education, research and digital transformation, and identify practical areas of cooperation.

He noted that such partnerships could create further opportunities for HaUI faculty members and students to study, conduct research and participate in international academic exchange.

The similarities in development priorities, academic strengths and commitment to innovation provide a strong foundation for future collaboration between HaUI and its partners in China.

Building on the outcomes of the visit, HaUI will continue to advance cooperation in education, scientific research, innovation and digital transformation. These efforts will support the University’s internationalisation strategy, broaden development opportunities for its academic community and contribute to HaUI’s goal of educating globally capable graduates.
