The escalating crisis of environmental pollution, particularly that stemming from plastic waste, represents a critical and pervasive global challenge. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), global plastic production currently stands at approximately 430 million tons annually. A significant majority of this, exceeding two-thirds, comprises single-use products that rapidly transition into waste, leading to severe oceanic contamination and profound adverse impacts on both ecosystems and human health.

Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) is actively contributing to Vietnam’s green transition through practical initiatives. The university not only integrates knowledge on sustainable development and green technology into its training programs, raising awareness among future generations, but also takes proactive steps to optimize energy efficiency on campus.

On September 11th, on behalf of Hanoi University of Industry, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector, presented a donation of 100 million VND to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Union to support those severely impacted by Typhoon No. 3.

On the morning of September 19, 2023, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Dong - Vice Rector and Chairman of the Trade Union representing officials and staff of Hanoi University of Industry handed over VND 100 million to the People's Committee of Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district in support of victims of the tragic fire at an apartment building in the capital city of Hanoi.

On November 25, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of HaUI attended the Capital Innovation Festival and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the Capital Ventures Network.
