A journey of learning and connection: HaUI students at DUE and UEH
The School of Economics (SE) at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) is committed to cultivating learning experiences that extend beyond the confines of the classroom, enabling students to acquire knowledge, build networks, and develop personal and professional competencies. In alignment with its dedication to student mobility and cross-cultural engagement, SE organized academic exchange programs in July 2025 in collaboration with Danang University of Economics (DUE) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).
Academic and Cultural Immersion at DUE
Five students from the Class of 2024, majoring in Banking and Finance, undertook a four-week exchange at DUE. The program provided an integrated learning experience, combining formal coursework with cross-institutional collaboration. Students were particularly impressed by the institution’s practice-oriented pedagogy, which actively encouraged engagement, critical inquiry, and collaborative problem-solving.

Impressed by the practice-oriented teaching methods and the encouragement of active interaction between lecturers and students, Phuong Anh, a student of the School of Economics at HaUI, shared: “Each class is not merely about absorbing lectures, but rather an open space that offers us the opportunity to engage in critical thinking, debate, ask questions, and develop creative and proactive solutions to problems.”

The exchange also offered valuable cultural enrichment. Students visited prominent landmarks such as the Marble Mountains, Da Nang Beach, Hoi An Ancient Town, and the former imperial capital of Hue, deepening their appreciation for Vietnam’s historical and cultural heritage. Residing in the international student dormitory fostered a strong sense of community, as shared living arrangements cultivated enduring bonds among participants.
UEH Mekong Summer Camp 2025 – Knowledge Sharing and Regional Connectivity
Concurrently, another group of SE students joined the UEH Mekong Summer Camp 2025, which brought together over 100 participants from universities nationwide. The program featured thematic lectures, skill-based workshops, and field activities focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development in the Mekong Delta.

Highlights included visits to traditional craft villages, local enterprises, and cultural sites in Can Tho such as the Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery and the Hung Kings Temple. The interactive workshops, where students presented proposals and engaged directly with academics and industry professionals, significantly enhanced participants’ confidence and presentation skills.

Hai Duyen, a student from the School of Economics at HaUI, reflected on her nearly month-long exchange at UEH with lasting impressions: 'What I remember most from the program are the courses on Design Thinking and Sustainable Development, which offered me fresh, multidimensional perspectives on the world. In particular, the Sustainable Development course provided forward-looking insights and inspired greater confidence for young people seeking to step beyond their comfort zones.

The guidance and encouragement from lecturers, particularly Dr. Vu Dinh Khoa, Vice Headmaster of the School of Economics at HaUI, offered students both academic direction and the confidence to actively engage in every activity
Crossing Borders, Building Connections, and Growing Stronger
The journeys at DUE and UEH were not only academic endeavors but also profound life experiences that allowed students of School of Economics, HaUI to adapt, connect, and grow. They took pride in representing HaUI, sharing its culture, distinctive identity, and core values with peers from across the country. These experiences have become the foundation for a vibrant and meaningful chapter of their youth.
Through these journeys, students came to understand that stepping beyond one’s comfort zone creates opportunities for learning, building connections, and fostering personal growth. From such experiences, new possibilities may emerge, whether in the form of international exchange programs or greater aspirations for the future.
