Advancing digital transformation: HaUI trains lecturers in AI applications for teaching and assessment
On January 10–11, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) organized a training program on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning assessment. The event attracted nearly 200 lecturers, contributing to ongoing efforts to innovate teaching practices and advance digital transformation in higher education.

HaUI lecturers participated in the AI training program
Emphasizing the critical role of technology in enhancing educational quality and assessment practices, Dr. Tran Thi Duyen, Director of the Testing and Assessment Center at HaUI, highlighted that AI serves as a powerful support tool and a “key” to redefining teaching methodologies. She noted that AI can optimize the entire assessment process, from curriculum design and question specification to data analysis of examination results. The application of AI, she added, enables the standardization of evaluation criteria and the development of detailed, objective grading frameworks.

The training program was designed with a strong practical focus, covering the full cycle of teaching and assessment. Participants were introduced to nine key areas of AI application, including curriculum framework design, development of detailed course syllabi, test and exam design, identification of assessment objectives, construction of assessment structures, development of question specifications, establishment of grading rubrics and marking guidelines, creation of questions with answer keys and detailed scoring schemes, as well as the synthesis and analysis of assessment data to support continuous improvement in teaching quality.

In addition, several widely used AI-supported tools were introduced, including Gemini, NotebookLM, Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Classroom. These tools contribute to standardizing teaching and assessment activities in a more scientific and transparent manner.
Lecturers engaged in discussions during the training program
Reaffirming the indispensable role of educators, Dr. Do Manh Hung, stressed that AI functions solely as a support tool to optimize processes and cannot replace the pedagogical responsibility and professional judgment of lecturers. He emphasized that lecturers remain at the center of all teaching and assessment activities.
Dr. Dinh Mai Huong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Garment - Textile Technology and Fashion Design, noted that the training provided practical insights into AI applications while equipping lecturers with effective methods and tools to gradually integrate AI into their teaching and assessment practices in alignment with real-world requirements.
