Digital transformation and institutional development in focus at HaUI - NEU meeting

On the afternoon of October 21, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) welcomed a delegation from the National Economics University (NEU) for a working visit focused on university governance, digital transformation and the development of multidisciplinary education. The meeting provided an opportunity for the two universities to share practical experience and explore closer cooperation as they continue to modernize governance structures and expand their academic scope.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, President of HaUI, welcomed the delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, President of NEU, and highlighted the role of digital transformation in modernizing university governance, improving operational efficiency and enhancing services for learners. HaUI has been developing the e-University system since 2010, progressively building an integrated digital management infrastructure in response to operational needs and adapting it to changes in the university's organizational structure.

A key feature of HaUI’s approach is the capacity to develop software in-house, centralize data management and integrate administrative and academic processes within a unified system. Digitalization has been implemented across a wide range of functions, including admissions, training, scientific research, personnel management, administrative operations and student services.

Digital transformation has also extended to academic management. Processes such as curriculum management, course assessment, and the supervision and assessment of graduation theses and final-year projects are carried out in digital environments, with digital signatures and tools supporting academic work integrated into the system.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho highlighted the value of HaUI’s experience in developing an integrated digital governance system for NEU’s ongoing organizational restructuring, particularly in advancing decentralization, delegating authority and leveraging data to support decision-making. NEU also expressed the willingness to share expertise in education, university governance and quality assurance, opening up opportunities for mutual learning and closer cooperation between the two universities.

The discussions explored practical approaches to digital transformation, including the development of a shared data architecture, information security, artificial intelligence applications, and the digitalization of financial and academic management. The exchange also addressed broader priorities in higher education, including interdisciplinary program development, international accreditation, university rankings and the enhancement of student services. These topics reflected the two universities’ shared interest in strengthening institutional capacity and improving educational quality as they develop their multidisciplinary, multi-field models.
