Hanoi University of Industry and Laos’ Ministry of Education and Sports talk on gender equality and women’s advancements
On November 29th, 2018, a delegation from Laos’ Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), led by Deputy Minister Khamphay Sisavanh, paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) to learn about the university work on gender equality and advancements of women.

Receiving the Laotian delegation was Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector of HaUI, Heads of units: International Education Center, International Cooperation Department, Committee for Advancements of Women and Trade Union. Delivering an opening speech at the meeting, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector affirmed the long lasting friendship between Laos and Vietnam in general and Laotian education and training sector and HaUI in particular. Also, Dr Ngan presented the general overview of the university infrastructure, training programs and related information about 181 Laotian students studying at HaUI. She added: HaUI is able to cooperate and offer highly qualified training programs for Laotian students, meeting the demand for high quality human resources of their country.

On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Minister Khamphay Sisavanh expressed his thanks to the University Management Board for the warm welcome. He said that the delegation wanted to learn about the work on gender equality and the advancements of women in HaUI, especially the practical experience for their better policies and solutions in the future. He believed that HaUI's experience will be a valuable reference resource for MoES to implement appropriate policies in educational institutions in Laos.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga - Head of HaUI Women's Committee shared experiences in implementing the work of gender equality and the work for the advancements of women, and specific and effective solutions that the university had been implementing.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Khamphay Sisavanh and his delegation paid a visit to Vietnam - Japan Center - HaUI.
