HaUI earns Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Emulation Flag for outstanding achievements in education and training

On October 29, 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) held the 2026 Conference on Training and Professional Development at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI). The conference reviewed the implementation of training and professional development activities, assessed key achievements, outlined development orientations through 2030 and identified priorities for 2027. At the event, HaUI was honoured with the Ministry's Emulation Flag and several other distinctions in recognition of outstanding achievements in education and training during the 2025–2026 academic year.

Overview of the event

In 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade's training and professional development activities were undertaken amid institutional restructuring, digital transformation, the transition towards green development and increasing demand for high-quality human resources. Educational institutions under the Ministry continued to pursue governance reforms, enhance training quality, strengthen engagement with businesses, and promote scientific research and technology transfer to better address the evolving needs of the industry and the labour market.

According to the Ministry's annual report, training and professional development programmes for civil servants and public employees in 2026 focused on state management, specialised professional knowledge, public service competencies and international integration. Notably, the Ministry organised 18 training courses on digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence, attracting more than 1,000 participants from 22 units. These initiatives contributed to strengthening participants' capacity to apply emerging technologies in the performance of their professional duties.

Alongside the achievements, the conference highlighted several challenges, particularly in forecasting human resource requirements, renewing training curricula and strengthening links between educational institutions and businesses. Against this backdrop, development orientations through 2030 will focus on improving training quality, developing academic staff, modernising institutional governance and optimising resource allocation. Particular emphasis will be placed on aligning education and training with the demands of scientific and technological advancement and innovation.

These priorities were further examined through presentations addressing key issues in human resource development and institutional cooperation. The University of Electricity presented approaches to training personnel for energy security and the sustainable energy transition. Hue Industrial College outlined development orientations for a national centre for high-quality vocational training and practical skills development. Meanwhile, the Institute of Machinery and Industrial Equipment Research shared experience in implementing the institute–university–enterprise cooperation model to advance training, research and the mastery of strategic technologies.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang acknowledged the efforts made by educational institutions in reforming their operations, improving educational quality and expanding cooperation. She emphasised the importance of developing human resource training strategies in close alignment with the development strategy of the industry and trade sector. Each institution was expected to identify its distinctive strengths, prioritise resources for key academic disciplines and enhance the relevance of training programmes to practical workforce requirements.

The Deputy Minister also underscored the need to strengthen collaboration among educational institutions, research institutes, businesses and local authorities. Such cooperation should extend beyond training provision to encompass curriculum development, scientific research, technological application and transfer. She further called for continued governance reform, improvements in academic capacity and greater accountability among institutional leaders in implementing development objectives.

A significant highlight of the conference was the commendation ceremony, which recognised organisations and individuals for outstanding contributions to education and training during the 2025–2026 academic year.

HaUI was one of only three educational institutions awarded the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Emulation Flag in recognition of outstanding performance in the “Good Teaching, Good Learning” emulation movement during the 2025–2026 academic year. The distinction acknowledges the University's achievements in enhancing educational quality, developing academic staff and effectively fulfilling its responsibilities in education and scientific research.

In addition to the Emulation Flag, HaUI received a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Industry and Trade for outstanding achievements in the “Good Teaching, Good Learning” emulation movement. The University was also recognised as an Excellent Labour Collective for the 2025–2026 academic year.
