HaUI Hosts 2024 Robot Innovation Competition: "Pickleball Ball-Throwing Robot"

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) recently organized the 2024 Robot Innovation Competition under the theme “Pickleball Ball-Throwing Robot.” This exciting event offered a dynamic playground for students to showcase their engineering skills and creativity.

The competition drew participation from 25 teams representing prestigious institutions, including Hanoi University of Industry, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Phenikaa University, University of Economics - Technology for Industries, and the University of Engineering and Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Teams were tasked with designing and building robots capable of throwing pickleball balls with precision and efficiency.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Trong Chuong, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at HaUI, shared his insights: "The movement for scientific research and innovation among students in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is always vibrant. In the academic year 2023 - 2024, the Faculty had 229 students participating in scientific research with 63 projects. For the academic year 2024 - 2025, we anticipate nearly 300 students will engage in scientific research with approximately 80 projects."

HaUI teams achieved outstanding results in the competition. The championship title was claimed by Team DCN - M46, while Team DCN - ABC secured second place, and Team DCN - GFAC took third place. These results highlighted HaUI students’ strong technical abilities, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving skills.

This competition served as a vibrant platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical settings. By integrating disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, and programming, participants demonstrated creativity and technical expertise under the pressure of competition.

The 2024 Robot Innovation Competition not only celebrated technological innovation but also reinforced HaUI's commitment to fostering talent and preparing students for future challenges in the rapidly evolving engineering landscape.
