As Vietnam implements major policies on educational reform, including the national initiative to position English as a second language in schools for the 2025–2035 period with a vision toward 2045, improving the quality of English language teaching and learning has become a key priority. English is increasingly regarded not only as a means of communication but also as a tool for accessing knowledge and supporting international integration.

The national project, "Gradually Establishing English as a Second Language in Schools for the Period 2025-2035, with a Vision to 2045," is set to play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in Vietnam. This strategic initiative is a key focus within Politburo's Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW, which outlines fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training, aiming to significantly boost the foreign language proficiency of future generations.

In the modern educational landscape, distance learning has become an increasingly important tool for maximizing the strengths and mastery of learners. Its outstanding advantages, such as flexibility, accessibility, and the promotion of independent learning, make it a highly effective method for fostering personal growth and academic success. As more institutions embrace this mode of education, its impact on promoting learners' strengths continues to be affirmed.

On August 18, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) proudly welcomed 131 freshmen to the Opening Ceremony of its English Language Distance Learning Courses. As distance learning rapidly gains traction in Vietnam, HaUI's initiative reflects the broader educational trend, with over 1 million online learners in the country by 2023, including more than 500,000 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.

The International Conference on English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) 2024 recently convened at the Hanoi University of Industry, marking a significant gathering for educators, researchers, and policymakers invested in the evolving landscape of language education.

On November 18, 2020, Mr. Jerrold J. Frank - Director of Regional English Office (RELO), the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam and Mr. Le Duong, RELO's expert, paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Industry. On behalf of HaUI, Dr. Bui Thi Ngan - Vice Rector of HaUI, Dr. Hoang Ngoc Tue - Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Language and Dr. Tran Thi Duyen - Director of the Testing & Assessment Center, welcomed the distinguished guests.

From 12^th- 13^th of October, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) organized the VietTESOL International Convention 2018 in collaboration with the US Embassy and VietTESOL association. Professor Nguyen Hoa, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association for English language Teaching and Research, (VietTESOL Association) in his opening speech emphasized that "The theme of our Convetion is English language education in the industrial revolution 4.0: meeting the needs of the dynamic labor market, I cannot think of a more befitting place to hold this Convention than Hanoi University of Industry"

On the morning of October 3^rd 2018, Mr. John Scacco – Director of RELO, US Embassy in Vietnam, together with Mr. David Kertzner and Mr. Le Duong – expert of RELO, had a meeting with representatives of the HaUI Management Board and Faculty of Foreign Languages.
