NeoTECH English Works 2026–2027 launches at HaUI, strengthening global readiness for engineering students
The launch ceremony of NeoTECH English Works 2026–2027 was held at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), bringing together 10 higher education institutions, U.S. partners and businesses in a joint effort to strengthen technical English and career skills for engineering and technology students.

The event was attended by H.E. Jennifer Wicks, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Regional English Language Office (RELO), 10 participating higher education institutions and businesses. The 2026–2027 project is expected to provide learning and professional development opportunities for nearly 300 students and 30 lecturers.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiều Xuân Thực, President of Hanoi University of Industry, delivers remarks at the event
Addressing the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiều Xuân Thực, President of Hanoi University of Industry, highlighted the importance of technical English in developing a highly qualified engineering and technology workforce capable of competing in the global labor market. With a network of 10 universities and the active involvement of industry partners, NeoTECH English Works creates an environment where students can develop English proficiency in close connection with their academic disciplines and the practical demands of the workplace.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiều Xuân Thực affirmed that HaUI will continue to foster a high-quality academic environment and work closely with participating institutions and partners to ensure the effective implementation of the project.

H.E. Jennifer Wicks, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, delivers a speech at the event
H.E. Jennifer Wicks, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, highlighted the broader significance of NeoTECH English Works in preparing engineering students for an increasingly interconnected professional environment. the Ambassador emphasized the project's practical value in helping students gain greater access to knowledge, professional information and networks related to their fields of study. By strengthening both language proficiency and confidence, the project can enable students to engage more effectively with international peers and professionals and contribute to global discussions within their areas of expertise.
For future engineers and technology professionals, English therefore extends beyond classroom learning. It serves as a means of accessing global knowledge, exchanging ideas across borders and building meaningful connections within the international professional community.

Mr. Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, Vice Director General of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training
Industry engagement is a key element in turning these aspirations into practical experience. Company visits, professional exchanges, career guidance and support for student projects allow learners to encounter English in situations that reflect the realities of the workplace. Such experiences can help students understand how technical knowledge is communicated, discussed and applied in an international professional environment.
Mr. Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training, emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration and resource sharing among participating institutions, as well as deeper engagement with businesses.
He also highlighted student progress and feedback from the labor market as important measures of the project's effectiveness. This approach places learners' development at the center while ensuring that the skills cultivated through the project remain relevant to evolving workplace demands.

Mr. Phan Quốc Tiến, HaUI alumnus and Industrial Engineering Manager at Gentherm Vietnam, shares insights from his experience working in an international corporate environment.
The value of combining technical expertise with communication skills was highlighted through the professional experience of Mr. Phan Quốc Tiến, a HaUI alumnus and Industrial Engineering Manager at Gentherm Vietnam.
Reflecting on his career, he noted that his early understanding of professional success centered primarily on technical expertise. Experience in an international corporate environment, however, broadened his perspective, demonstrating the importance of communication, adaptability and continuous learning alongside technical knowledge. In this context, English serves as a practical bridge to new sources of knowledge, professional opportunities and cross-cultural connections.
His progression from a HaUI student to an engineering leader in an international company illustrates how language proficiency, combined with technical competence, can help graduates transition more effectively from academic learning to professional practice.

Bùi Công Tước, a student of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, shares his perspective at the event
For Bùi Công Tước, a student of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the value of effective communication became particularly evident through an international technology project in South Korea. Working alongside international students to develop and present the project, he experienced firsthand that a strong technical idea gains greater value when it can be clearly articulated and shared with others. The experience underscored the importance of being able to communicate technical knowledge, exchange ideas and work effectively across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
His story echoes a key message of NeoTECH English Works: preparing engineering students for the global workplace requires more than solid technical foundations. It also means giving them the language skills and confidence to articulate their expertise, collaborate internationally and turn ideas into meaningful contributions.

NeoTECH English Works 2026–2027 officially launches at Hanoi University of Industry, marking the beginning of a collaborative initiative that connects 10 higher education institutions with U.S. partners and industry.
NeoTECH English Works 2026–2027 reflects a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of engineering and technology professionals for an increasingly interconnected world. By bringing together universities, U.S. partners and industry, the project provides students with opportunities to strengthen their English proficiency, apply their technical expertise and build the confidence to communicate and collaborate across borders. These experiences help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, equipping students to engage more effectively with the global engineering and technology community.
