More than 120 new international students from nine countries and territories were warmly welcomed to Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) on September 6, 2026, as they began their studies in Vietnam.

What does it feel like to leave home and begin a new life in a country thousands of kilometres away? There are new faces to meet, new cultures to discover, unfamiliar words to learn and countless moments that slowly turn a foreign place into somewhere that feels like home.

Two students, one shared passion for technology, and a four-year journey that culminated in their graduation as HaUI’s Valedictorian and Salutatorian of 2026.

The grand finale of the Digital Era Creative Innovation Competition 2026 (DECIC 2026) marked the culmination of an intense journey, bringing together the top 6 teams selected from 63 tech-forward groups across Vietnamese universities. Far from being a mere academic exercise, this year's competition spotlighted a powerful shift in student research: turning real-world friction points into the ultimate launchpad for breakthrough ideas.

A total of 621 student research projects were successfully completed, involving 2,356 students, with 613 awards presented to 2,329 participants at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI). Notably, all First Prize-winning projects were accompanied by scientific publications, many of which appeared in prestigious ISI/Scopus-indexed journals, reflecting the growing international reach of student research at the University.

At HaUI Innovation and Entrepreneurship Day 2026, students demonstrated how research can be transformed into technologies that address real-world challenges. From intelligent assistive devices and AI-powered applications to sustainable engineering solutions and community-focused innovations, the event highlighted the growing impact of student-led research while creating valuable opportunities for aspiring innovators to connect with industry experts, entrepreneurs, and investors.

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape economies and drive digital transformation worldwide, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) hosted the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Student HackAIthon 2026 and the AI4Student – AI4Life Talk Show on 28 May 2026. Under the theme "Advancing AI Literacy: Current Trends in Vietnam and Around the World," the event brought together students, policymakers, industry leaders, and AI experts to promote digital competencies, innovation, and responsible AI adoption among young people.

A student team from Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) has received national recognition at the 8th National Student Startup Festival (SV.STARTUP 2026), earning the Encouragement Prize for its innovative project, HAutoML. Selected from hundreds of startup projects nationwide, the team's success highlights the growing research and innovation capabilities of HaUI students and reflects the University's commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation-driven education.

On January 27, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a conference to review student affairs in 2025 and outline tasks for 2026, while awarding Nguyen Thanh Binh Scholarship Fund grants for the 2024–2025 academic year and Lunar New Year gifts for students with disabilities and orphaned students.

In the context of higher education undergoing substantial transformations toward quality enhancement and capacity development, the training of class leadership teams has been identified as a key task that extends beyond the provision of basic administrative management skills. Through a training program for class representatives of Undergraduate Cohort 20 and College Cohort 27, held on December 13–14 at the Hanoi and Ninh Binh campuses, Hanoi University of Industry has progressively established and shaped a contingent of student leaders equipped with organizational competence, leadership capacity, and a strong sense of responsibility, in alignment with the University’s objectives for innovation and sustainable development in the current period.
