Empowering youth for the future: HaUI marks 95 years of the Youth Union with innovation and aspiration

“The strength of a nation in the new era is measured by its capacity for innovation, its level of science and technology, and the quality of its human resources.” This was emphasized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), at the ceremony marking the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

At this significant milestone, HaUI students take pride in the University’s 128-year tradition of development while reaffirming their determination to uphold the core values of “Engineering – Aspiration – Innovation,” continuing to write new chapters of excellence through knowledge and creativity.

In the context of a rapidly evolving era, HaUI youth recognize that patriotism today must be demonstrated through knowledge, competence, and concrete actions. In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc highlighted the core values as guiding principles for student development.

“Engineering” reflects the integration of long-standing technical foundations with modern technologies, beginning with practical, incremental innovations. “Aspiration” transforms patriotism into intellectual strength, determination, and the will to shape the future. “Innovation” embodies a pioneering spirit in creating new values, mastering technologies, and adapting to emerging governance models in the digital transformation era. The University leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting students by providing the best possible conditions for entrepreneurship, career development, and professional growth grounded in knowledge, integrity, and resilience.

The discussion emphasized the mission of engineering students in the modern era, which is not only to use technology but also to master it. In response to students’ concerns about the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and the gap between academic training and industry demands, Dr. Ngo Dinh Sang underscored that technology serves merely as a tool, while human ethics and identity remain the fundamental values that enable students to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing global landscape.
