The two universities also discussed expanding postgraduate scholarships and establishing a co-supervision mechanism for master's and doctoral students.
Ms. Zhang Yanlin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Shanghai University of Electric Power, addressed the meeting
Scientific research was identified as another strategic pillar of the partnership. Building on complementary strengths, the two institutions agreed to explore the establishment of an international joint laboratory focusing on green energy, wind power, and energy storage technologies, with potential funding support from the Chinese Government and the Shanghai Municipal Government.
Both universities also agreed to institutionalize annual faculty and student exchanges, academic summer schools, and other collaborative programmes as an initial step toward broader strategic cooperation. These initiatives are expected to strengthen institutional connectivity and provide a solid foundation for the implementation of larger-scale joint research and education projects.
