HaUI and Foxconn enhance strategic cooperation in education, research, and technology innovation
For nearly two decades, the partnership between Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and Foxconn Technology Group has demonstrated the value of close collaboration between academia and industry. Through annual recruitment of 100–200 HaUI students, joint training initiatives, and the successful operation of the Foxconn-sponsored Technical Training Center at HaUI since 2008, the partnership has made a significant contribution to developing highly skilled engineering talent for Vietnam's manufacturing sector.
The long-standing relationship was further strengthened during the University–Industry Partnership Conference, hosted by FUYU Precision Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group, at Quang Chau Industrial Park, Bac Ninh Province, on 10 June. The event provided an important platform for HaUI to deepen collaboration with one of the world's leading technology manufacturers while expanding partnerships with global enterprises.
Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice President of Hanoi University of Industry, commended Foxconn's impressive growth in Viet Nam, highlighting the Group's strong double-digit revenue growth in 2025. He noted that sustainable industrial development depends fundamentally on a highly qualified workforce and reaffirmed HaUI's commitment to strengthening university–industry collaboration in response to rapidly evolving technological demands.

Over the years, HaUI and Foxconn have jointly implemented a wide range of initiatives, including graduate recruitment, student internships, scholarship programmes, short-term professional training, and laboratory equipment sponsorship. A cornerstone of this partnership is the Technical Training Center established at HaUI with Foxconn's support, providing students with direct access to advanced industrial equipment and manufacturing technologies widely used in modern production environments. The integration of Chinese language training during students' third and fourth years has further enhanced graduates' competitiveness, equipping them with the linguistic and professional competencies required to succeed in international workplaces and pursue careers within global technology enterprises.
During the conference, Foxconn also shared updates on its 3+3+3 strategy, which focuses on three major industries, three core technologies, and three intelligent platforms as the foundation for expanding into next-generation high-tech sectors. The strategy reflects Foxconn's long-term vision of strengthening Viet Nam's position within the global high-tech manufacturing supply chain.
Looking ahead, HaUI seeks to further broaden cooperation with Foxconn beyond its well-established education and recruitment activities. The University proposed expanding collaboration in applied research, technology transfer, and joint innovation initiatives aimed at addressing practical engineering challenges in manufacturing. Particular emphasis was placed on developing collaborative research aligned with Foxconn's strategic technology priorities, creating greater opportunities for knowledge exchange, technological innovation, and the cultivation of highly skilled professionals for the future.
