HaUI reviews achievements of 2024–2025 and sets strategic tasks for the new academic year
On the morning of September 27, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held the Conference to Review the 2024–2025 Academic Year and to Outline the Orientations and Tasks for 2025–2026. The event served not only as a forum to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments but also as the formal commencement of a new stage of development, guided by strategic vision, firm determination, and alignment with the directives of the Party and the State of Vietnam

The academic year 2024–2025 witnessed remarkable achievements for HaUI across multiple domains, reaffirming HaUI’s position as one of Vietnam’s leading higher education institutions. A key highlight was student enrollment, as HaUI admitted 10,147 new students, surpassing the projected target. The university’s growing reputation and strong appeal were further evidenced by the 135,351 applications received for undergraduate programs. The quality of student intake was also maintained, with the average admission score across disciplines reaching 23.85 points.

Scientific research recorded substantial progress with a total of 1,634 publications, including 479 articles indexed in WoS/Scopus, representing a 13.8 percent increase compared to the previous year. Collaboration with enterprises was further deepened, contributing to a graduate employment rate of 95 percent within one year after graduation. Financial sustainability was reinforced, allowing the average monthly income of staff and employees to reach 23.55 million VND. These outcomes exemplify the spirit of solidarity and the unwavering dedication of the entire university community.
The academic year 2025–2026 marks the first year of implementing the Resolution of HaUI’s 8th Party Congress, opening a new stage of innovation and determination. To this end, the university has defined eight breakthrough priorities: (1) advancing a modern model of university governance; (2) reforming student recruitment and promoting internationally oriented training programs; (3) cultivating a high-caliber faculty capable of driving research, innovation, and creativity; (4) strengthening internal governance and accelerating administrative reform; (5) expanding infrastructure and technology in parallel with comprehensive digital transformation; (6) enhancing cooperation with enterprises, international partners, and the alumni network; (7) ensuring and continuously improving educational quality; and (8) promoting holistic education while fostering a modern, humanistic institutional culture. Among these priorities, digital transformation has been identified as a cornerstone mission, with the goal of digitalizing and automating at least 70 percent of administrative processes, thereby establishing a comprehensive digital ecosystem for university governance.

Addressing the conference, Mr. Tran Quang Huy, Director General of the Department of Personnel and Organization under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highly commended the comprehensive achievements of HaUI. He underscored several key priorities for the next phase, including strengthening student recruitment and training quality, fostering breakthroughs in science and technology closely connected to education and practice, streamlining governance structures to enhance efficiency, and nurturing a teaching and learning environment that is equitable, humanistic, and conducive to the overall well-being of both lecturers and students.

Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of HaUI, directly addressed 39 questions and recommendations raised by staff and employees during unit-level conferences. These covered issues such as revenue allocation, policy frameworks, research support, student services, and infrastructure development. Each matter was clarified with transparency, responsibility, and goodwill, underscoring HaUI’s commitment to fostering a democratic, inclusive, and human-centered academic environment.
