Prof. Le Thi Hoai An (University of Lorraine & HaUI) delivered an in-depth overview entitled 'AI in Industry: From Global Experiences to Vietnam’s Practices,' analyzing successful international models and deriving key lessons for Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, former Deputy Director General of the ICT Industry Department under the Ministry of Science and Technology, presented on "Policies and Strategies to Foster AI in Vietnam’s Industry", outlining national orientations and state-level support mechanisms

Representatives from VNPT Technology and FPT Software shared practical perspectives on both the opportunities and the challenges of integrating AI into industrial production
A highlight of the program was the high-level panel discussion on "AI Applications in Industry: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions," moderated by Dr. Dang Trong Hop, Headmaster of School of Information and Communications Technology, HaUI. The panel convened prominent experts, including Dr. Nguyen Quan, President of the Vietnam Automation Association and former Minister of Science and Technology; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, President of the Vietnam Informatics Association; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen – former Deputy Director General of the ICT Industry Department; and Mr. Nguyen Viet Bang – Vice President of VNPT Technology.
The discussion provided a critical and forward-looking analysis of pressing issues, ranging from the development of a robust data ecosystem and the cultivation of highly skilled human resources to the establishment of legal and institutional frameworks conducive to innovation. These deliberations were closely aligned with the orientations set forth in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (December 22, 2024) of the Politburo, which emphasizes breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as drivers of national progress.

The panel discussion on the theme “AI Applications in Industry: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions"
The four specialized sessions were structured around critical thematic areas: (i) artificial intelligence in industrial automation and robotics; (ii) AI applications in smart manufacturing and quality control; (iii) AI training and capacity building for industrial production; and (iv) AI-driven solutions and models tailored for industrial applications.
Complementing the academic discussions, AI4Industry 2025 also introduced an AI Hackathon/Challenge that provided students with a dynamic platform to transform theoretical knowledge into practical solutions. Among the highlighted tasks was the application of computer vision to detect product defects, an area widely regarded as one of the most transformative uses of AI in manufacturing. The competition not only encouraged creativity and problem-solving among young innovators but also fostered meaningful connections between academia and industry.
AI4Industry 2025 has emerged as an influential platform that generates ideas, fosters collaboration, and inspires innovation. It affirms Hanoi University of Industry’s pioneering role in education, research, and technology transfer, while at the same time conveying the collective aspiration of Vietnam’s scientific and technological community to advance artificial intelligence as a cornerstone of a smart, efficient, and sustainable industrial future, thereby strengthening the nation’s position within the global value chain.
