Female Scientists at Hanoi University of Industry: Breaking Barriers, Driving Innovation

On March 8, International Women’s Day is not only a time to honor women’s contributions to society but also an occasion to recognize their remarkable achievements across various fields, particularly in scientific research. Despite facing numerous challenges, female scientists have demonstrated resilience, passion, and excellence, making significant contributions and affirming their role in advancing knowledge and technology.

At Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), more than 600 female lecturers and researchers are actively engaged in teaching and research. Notably, over 30% of them hold the title of Associate Professor or Doctor (PGS.TS), underscoring their growing influence in academia. Their dedication and perseverance have resulted in outstanding achievements across various disciplines, further proving that scientific excellence knows no gender boundaries.

Sharing her perspective on the challenges women face in scientific research, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Hương Quỳnh, a researcher in environmental technology at the HaUI Institute of Technology, remarked: "For women, balancing professional aspirations with family responsibilities is never easy. There were times when I had to choose between staying late in the laboratory to complete an experiment or going home early to take care of my family. It was an immense pressure. But I believe that with passion and perseverance, women can overcome any challenge and carve out their place in the scientific world."

Beyond her personal journey, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phạm Hương Quỳnh also encourages young women to pursue careers in research:"I hope more young women will have the confidence to step into the world of science. If you have a dream, do not hesitate to push beyond your limits and challenge yourself. Science is for everyone who dares to explore and innovate."
