Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) recently held its inaugural Book Fair with the theme "Spreading Knowledge - Connecting the Future." This meaningful event aimed to foster a love for reading among the HaUI community and inspire lifelong learning.

Since 2014, the Vietnamese government has designated April 21 as "Vietnam Book Day". The day was established to encourage and develop a reading culture across the nation, raise public awareness of the profound importance of reading, and emphasize the role of books in cultivating knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and personal development.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector of HaUI, underscored the invaluable benefits of reading. He stated, "Books play a vital role; they are the universal key that unlocks the treasures of human intellect and soul. They are like mentors, enlightening us with boundless knowledge."

The HaUI Book Fair 2024 featured the participation of nine organizations and 12 exhibition booths from various publishing houses, bookstores, and book companies. The festival’s vibrant atmosphere was further enriched by a series of dynamic and engaging activities. A highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, where the organizing committee presented prizes to 20 outstanding students who excelled in the second "Writing about the Library" competition.

Additionally, the festival offered a range of attractions, including free book booths, discounted book areas that drew large crowds of students, and a cozy book cafe where attendees could relax with a good book and enjoy beverages. Visitors could also explore the book stalls, collect free souvenirs, and participate in interactive games with exciting prizes.

This festival highlighted the university's dedication to fostering a passion for reading and strengthened connections within the academic community and beyond. The HaUI Book Fair 2024 stands as a testament to the power of books in shaping minds and connecting individuals toward a brighter, more informed future.
