HaUI Strengthens Educational Internationalization with English-Taught Programs

On the morning of March 25, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) hosted an extensive training session focused on the international VEPT English examination and the assessment of English language proficiency for the lecturers. This initiative constitutes a pivotal component of HaUI’s comprehensive program to enhance the linguistic competencies of its lecturers, particularly those engaged in teaching undergraduate courses in English. This endeavor is fully aligned with the university’s strategic development plan for 2021–2025 and its vision for 2030, which seeks to achieve successful internationalization and to firmly establish HaUI on the global educational map.

The training session was organized in response to Resolution No. 91-KL/TW, issued on August 12, 2024, by the Politburo, which underscores the imperative to deepen international integration in education and training, enhance the foreign language capabilities of students, and gradually establish English as a secondary language in academic institutions. In alignment with these directives, HaUI has accelerated its efforts to deliver specialized instruction in English. The university plans to launch 10 English-taught training programs by 2025 and has consistently prioritized the professional development of its lecturers through strategic collaborations with international educational organizations. These initiatives facilitate the adoption of contemporary pedagogical methodologies, thereby equipping instructors to deliver specialized courses in English with enhanced efficacy and contributing to an academic environment that adheres to international standards.

Esteemed experts from EduGlobal provided a detailed exposition on the structure and question formats of the VEPT examination, addressing the four fundamental language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They also delineated a comprehensive framework for assessing English proficiency. The session highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern education, showcasing its application in personalized learning platforms, automated evaluation systems, and advanced exam preparation tools. These innovations are designed to significantly improve learning outcomes and expedite the advancement of language proficiency. A representative from EduGlobal emphasized that, in today’s globalized context, the delivery of specialized courses in English not only expands students’ career prospects but also functions as a strategic instrument for universities to elevate their international standing and foster global integration.
