Summer Volunteer Campaign 2025: HaUI students bring Hope and Dedication
Summer 2025 has arrived, filled with energy, excitement, and the spirit of youth. For students at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), this season is more than a break from studies. It is a time to wear the green volunteer shirt, travel to remote areas, and share their strength, skills, and compassion with the community.
The Summer Volunteer Campaign 2025 continues HaUI’s long tradition of student service, but this year it was further inspired by the message of General Secretary Tô Lâm at the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation. In his speech, he reminded young people that “they must recognize their role in all aspects of social life, take responsibility, and strive to lead in learning, training, and self-improvement.” Those words became a source of motivation for thousands of HaUI students.

With that spirit in mind, HaUI’s Youth Union designed the campaign carefully, setting a clear goal: to promote the pioneering and volunteer spirit of young people in contributing to social development, building new rural areas, and creating a more civilized urban life. From May to September 2025, students transformed ideals into practical actions, showing what it truly means to “say little, do much.”
One of the clearest examples was the work of the “Green Summer” team in Tan Tien commune, Lang Son province. In August, 45 HaUI volunteers spent their days side by side with local residents. They inaugurated a 40-million-VND community yard at the cultural house in Coc Khau hamlet, and handed out school supplies and essential goods worth 57 million VND to over 350 children and 10 disadvantaged families.

But their contribution went further. They cleaned and decorated classrooms to welcome the new school year, assisted local staff with paperwork, and even opened free English and digital literacy classes for children. These may sound like small gestures, but for the villagers, they built bridges of connection and hope - visible proof of how youth energy can brighten lives.
The campaign also reached Hanoi, where the well-known “Exam Season Assistance” program supported thousands of candidates and their families during important national exams. Volunteers were also present on city streets, promoting traffic safety and helping build a cleaner, more orderly urban environment.
Through these activities, HaUI students found a space to grow. They learned, contributed, and discovered the meaning of service. Every drop of sweat and every smile was, in a sense, an answer to President Hồ Chí Minh’s enduring question: “What have I done for my country? How can I be of greater benefit to the nation?”
The Summer Volunteer Campaign 2025 at HaUI is more than a series of projects. It is a story of young people living with purpose, full of compassion, and ready to take on challenges wherever they arise. They represent the trust and expectations of the Party, the State, and the people - and they remind us all of a future Vietnam that is stronger, kinder, and closer to the vision of standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s great nations.
