On 16 December 2011, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. cooperated with LETCO to organize a Job opportunity workshop in HaUI.

On 11 November 2011, Mr. Junichi Mori, JICA Expert, provided the basic 5S training for about 120 lecturers and students in HaUI’s 3rd campus in Ha Nam Province. Mr. Mori gave the lecture about basic 5S concepts, why 5S is important, how enterprises applied 5S, and the progresses in HaUI.

On 28 October 2011, HaUI organized the closing ceremony for the second 5S Week. More than 300 people including the board members, heads and vice heads of faculties, centers, and departments together with students took part in the event.

On 24 October, 2011, HaUI opened the second 5S week. In the opening ceremony, Mr. Toshio Tsuruta, Assistant Director, Panasonic Institute of Manufacturing gave a key-note speech on the importance of 3S.

On 14 October, 2011, 15 students of HaUI’s 5S Student Taskforce and 4 lecturers of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering visited 4P Company, a Vietnamese leading supplier of electronic circuit board.

On 14 October, 2011, 15 students and 4 lecturers of the Vietnam Japan Center (VJC) had a study tour to EBA Machinery Corporation. EBA introduced overview of the company as well as required skills and knowledge as a mechanical engineering and technician at their machining department.

On 7 October 2011, Mr. Junichi Mori, JICA Expert, provided the basic 5S lecture for representatives of all faculties and centers in A7 Building.

On 28 September, 2011, 15 students and 3 lecturers of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Business Management visited HTMP Mechanical Co., Ltd., one of the most excellent Vietnamese mold and die manufacturers.

On 20 September 2011, Mr. Junichi Mori, JICA Expert, provided the basic 5S lecture for 25 lecturers of the Faculty of Electric Engineering and the Faculty of Marxist and Leninist. Mr. Quang, Vice Rector and 5S Committee Chairman joined the lecture. After Mr. Mori explained the basic 5S concept, participants checked 5S implementation in those faculties. This lecture was organized in order to push 5S implementation forward in those two faculties.

On 19th September 2011, a follow-up workshop on study tour and internship at Cosmos Industrial Co., Ltd was held at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with the participation of relevant lecturers, students and Mr. Mori, JICA expert. Mr. Mori provided a brief about Vietnam’s motorcycle industry and Cosmos. Then students had group discussion and presented on their findings in the factory tour. This was a good chance for students to review what they learned through the tour.
