Hanoi University of Industry signs MoU with KCCI to expand opportunities for high skilled technical workforce in South Korea

On April 22, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry held a working session with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant step toward expanding opportunities for students to access high skilled technical employment programs in South Korea.

The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, together with representatives of the University’s academic and administrative units. The delegation from the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry was led by Mr. Lee Sangbok, Vice Chairman of KCCI.

In the opening remarks, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc emphasized the University’s strengths in engineering and technology education, noting that it provides the labor market with thousands of engineers each year, many of whom are currently employed by Korean enterprises. He expressed confidence that cooperation with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, particularly within the framework of South Korea’s high skilled workforce programs, will enable graduates to enter international working environments immediately after completing their studies. He also affirmed that the University possesses both the experience in international collaboration and the institutional capacity required to effectively implement such initiatives, while expressing expectations for a long term and substantive partnership.

Mr. Lee Sangbok highlighted South Korea’s growing demand for skilled professionals in key industries including semiconductors, robotics, electronics, and engineering. He described Vietnam as a highly promising source of talent, supported by a young workforce that demonstrates strong learning ability and adaptability. According to him, the cooperation framework is designed to connect qualified Vietnamese graduates with Korean enterprises, offering opportunities to work in advanced technological environments and gain valuable international experience. He further noted that beyond employment, the program contributes to capacity building, enabling participants to return and make meaningful contributions to their home country.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties agreed to promote collaboration in recruitment, competency assessment, and the development of workforce exchange initiatives. The delegation from the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry toured the University’s facilities, gaining insights into its academic environment and practical training system.

The signing of the agreement represents an important milestone that lays the foundation for future cooperation in training, internships, and the development of high quality technical human resources, thereby strengthening the connection between higher education and the international labor market.
