Hanoi University of Industry supports and engages students with disabilities

On April 16 and 17, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) organized a meaningful and heartfelt meeting with 40 students with disabilities currently studying at the university in Hanoi and Ninh Binh . The gathering went beyond a formal occasion, reaffirming HaUI’s commitment to ensuring that no student is left behind in the pursuit of knowledge.

Among more than 30,000 students at HaUI, these 40 students are often regarded as sunflowers that always turn toward the light. While some face mobility difficulties and others experience visual or hearing impairments, they share a common strength: remarkable determination and a strong aspiration to affirm their value through continuous effort and academic achievement.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien extended sincere encouragement to the students, emphasizing that they are not only learners of the university but also exemplary individuals who embody resilience and perseverance. He affirmed that the university leadership, lecturers, and staff are committed to providing the most favorable conditions possible, from infrastructure to support policies, enabling students to study with confidence, develop their potential, and prepare for their future.

The meeting gained added significance as representatives from faculties, academic units, student affairs department, and the university healthcare center listened directly to students’ concerns and aspirations. Issues related to campus mobility, academic challenges, and future employment were openly discussed and carefully documented, with appropriate support measures identified for timely implementation.

Nguyen Tien Thanh, a student from School of Information and Communications Technology at HaUI, expressed his profound gratitude to the lecturers, noting that he has never felt alone thanks to their continuous understanding and steadfast support throughout his academic journey.

Ta Bich Lien, a Marketing student from School of Economics at HaUI, has demonstrated remarkable resilience, perseverance, and optimism despite undergoing seven surgeries. She shared that the continuous support and encouragement from lecturers and fellow students have greatly assisted her in her studies, and that she feels fortunate to have chosen a field she is truly passionate about.
