HaUI and the Academy of Security Engineering and Technology strengthen cooperation in training, research and technology transfer

On the afternoon of September 18, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and the Academy of Security Engineering and Technology signed a cooperation agreement, establishing a framework for collaboration between the two higher education institutions in training, scientific research and technology development, with a focus on developing high-quality human resources in the digital era.

At the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, President of Hanoi University of Industry, highlighted the shared heritage of long-standing technical education and the common aspiration for development of the two institutions. He identified engineering and technology as key areas of mutual strength, providing a solid foundation for the two institutions to pursue their goals of becoming centres of excellence in education, research and innovation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc expressed his expectation that the two institutions would soon implement specific collaborative activities, with priority given to faculty exchange and the establishment of joint research groups in areas of mutual strength, particularly information technology and telecommunications and electronics engineering.

Maj. Gen. Dr. Le Minh Thao, Director of the Academy of Security Engineering and Technology, shared the Academy’s development orientation, which focuses on technical and technological education and human resource development for the security industry. The Academy aims to become one of Vietnam’s leading higher education institutions in technology by 2030. Maj. Gen. Dr. Le Minh Thao emphasised the importance of cooperation with higher education institutions outside the Public Security sector, particularly HaUI, to leverage available resources and strengthen the capacity to fulfil increasingly demanding social and professional requirements. He also highlighted the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals in the context of new cybersecurity regulations and requirements.

The agreement focuses on three major areas of cooperation in line with current developments in higher education. In education and human resource development, the two institutions will facilitate the exchange of lecturers, visiting lecturers and experts, while strengthening collaboration in supervising doctoral researchers. The cooperation will also include student exchange programmes and efforts to attract corporate sponsorship, providing learners from both institutions with broader learning opportunities and opportunities to develop practical skills.

In scientific research and technology transfer, cooperation will focus on sharing experience and solutions for the operation of modern laboratory systems and promoting digital transformation in institutional management. HaUI will work closely with the Academy to support the commercialisation of scientific research outcomes and facilitate the application of research results in practice. The two institutions will also explore the sharing of digital library resources and learning materials and jointly organise thematic seminars to foster an open and multidisciplinary academic environment.

Under the HaUI Development Strategy for 2026–2030, with a vision to 2035, HaUI aims to develop as an innovation-oriented higher education institution and place itself among the top 400 universities in Asia. The strategy places emphasis on developing an innovation ecosystem, sharing knowledge resources and promoting technology transfer. HaUI is also pursuing strategic partnerships with domestic and international organisations while accelerating digital transformation across institutional governance, administration and education.
