HaUI contributes insights to MOET’s development of Higher Education Quality Assurance Framework
On May 22, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) welcomed a delegation from the Quality Management Department of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) as part of a practical survey program at higher education institutions. The initiative aims to support the development of a national Higher Education Quality Assurance Framework.
At the working session, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien delivered a comprehensive report summarizing HaUI’s quality assurance efforts during the 2022–2025 period. His presentation highlighted key achievements in institutional accreditation and program-level assessment, as well as the university’s internal quality assurance system. The report focused on critical elements such as policies and procedures for quality assurance, tools and resources for implementation, the operational maturity of the quality system, and its compatibility with national and international standards.
The survey delegation consisted of experienced experts in education quality assurance and accreditation from both domestic and international contexts. Beyond serving as a fact-finding mission, the working session provided an important platform for professional dialogue, practical experience sharing, and expert consultation on enhancing institutional quality assurance capacity.
Representatives from HaUI also openly proposed several recommendations aimed at addressing regulatory bottlenecks and barriers. These suggestions are intended to contribute to the development of a pragmatic, regionally and globally integrated Higher Education Quality Assurance Framework. Specific proposals included:
- Designing a flexible framework adaptable to different types of institutions;
- Ensuring alignment with international accreditation standards;
- Establishing mechanisms for knowledge transfer, provision of standard documentation, and professional training in quality assurance for universities;
- Enhancing institutional capacity for internal quality assurance and international accreditation readiness;
- Integrating digital transformation, sustainable development goals, and modern university governance into the framework.
During the exchange, Ms. Tran Bich Hue, Head of the Education Quality Accreditation Management Division under the MOET’s Quality Management Department, acknowledged and highly appreciated HaUI’s serious and proactive approach to accreditation activities. She commended the university for its well-prepared and insightful reports, which accurately reflected the current status of quality assurance and demonstrated a high level of institutional responsibility.
Ms. Tran Bich Hue underscores that the feedback and recommendations provided by Hanoi University of Industry are not only pragmatic but also hold substantial long-term relevance. She asserts that the insights obtained from the working session constitute a critical foundation for the ongoing development of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Framework and are expected to facilitate the broader dissemination of exemplary practices within Vietnam’s higher education system.
