HaUI expands cooperation opportunities with Bulgarian partners

On September 23, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a meeting with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development (CEED) Bulgaria, and VNSKILL Group JSC to discuss potential cooperation in education and human resource development, as well as opportunities for HaUI students to study and work in Bulgaria.

Overview of the working session

Expanding international partnerships is one of HaUI’s priorities in creating more opportunities for students to study, conduct research, and develop their careers. From academic exchange programs to internships and employment opportunities abroad, new partnerships are expected to enhance students’ international exposure and adaptability to the global labor market.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice President of HaUI, said that with 72 undergraduate programs and a broad range of disciplines spanning engineering, technology, economics, languages, and services, HaUI integrates education with research, innovation, and practical needs. More than 95% of HaUI graduates secure employment each year. Alongside expanding the scale and scope of its academic offerings, HaUI has identified internationalization as a key development priority, with a focus on strengthening academic exchange and research collaboration while creating more opportunities for students to study, undertake internships, and develop their careers in international environments.

As HaUI continues to expand cooperation in Europe, the meeting with Bulgarian partners provided a concrete avenue for connecting HaUI’s educational strengths with the needs of the Bulgarian business community. Mr. Tsvetan Aleksov, Trade Counselor of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Vietnam, together with representatives of BCCI and CEED, discussed opportunities to connect HaUI’s strengths in engineering, technology, and related fields more directly with human resource demands in the Bulgarian market.

BCCI currently connects more than 56,000 businesses and business associations in Bulgaria and maintains partnerships with higher education institutions. This network could facilitate connections between HaUI and Bulgarian partners across both the education and business sectors, ranging from academic exchanges involving students and faculty members to internships and career opportunities. Such connections would provide a basis for linking HaUI’s academic strengths more closely with Bulgarian partners and developing cooperation programs that align higher education with the practical needs of the labor market.

Building on connections with the labor market, cooperation could also focus on bringing emerging requirements in technology, skills, and international careers closer to the educational environment. Mr. Stanislav Chervenkov, Executive Director of CEED Bulgaria, introduced a platform that connects Bulgarian businesses with five countries, including Vietnam. This could provide HaUI with more direct access to developments in the European labor market and create opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as internships and international learning experiences that align with the University’s academic strengths.

As part of the proposed cooperation, VNSKILL Group JSC also offered to contribute as a connecting partner by providing information on recruitment requirements and supporting competency verification. This role could create an additional link between HaUI students and career opportunities in international markets.

The meeting marked a step toward broader cooperation between HaUI and its Bulgarian partners, with potential collaboration extending beyond student and faculty exchanges to scientific research and other academic activities. Building on this initial connection with the Bulgarian market, HaUI aims to further expand its partnership network in Europe and develop practical cooperation programs that create meaningful opportunities for students in study, research, internships, and international career development.
