More than 900 Graduates from HaUI’s School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering embark on a new journey

On Sunday, August 17, the campus of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) was filled with the vibrant colors of flowers, warm embraces, and heartfelt congratulations from families, teachers, and friends. In that atmosphere of pride and gratitude, more than 900 new engineers and graduates of the School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering (SMAE) proudly celebrated their commencement, marking the conclusion of their student years and the beginning of a new journey.

HaUI and SMAE leaders congratulate the outstanding graduates of the Class of 2025

For the Cohort of 2021 - 2025, graduation day was not only about academic success but also about emotions deeply woven with memories: the dedication of parents, the guidance of teachers, and the unforgettable bonds of friendship formed in lecture halls, laboratories, and workshops. It was a moment to look back with gratitude and forward with determination.

The 2025 report shows that out of more than 900 graduates of SMAE, 25 earned an Excellent ranking and 207 graduated with a Very Good classification. These impressive results reflect not only the persistence and effort of each student but also the dedication of the SMAE faculty, who have guided and mentored them throughout four years of study and personal growth.

In his commencement address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Rector of SMAE, warmly congratulated the new engineers and graduates: “From tomorrow, a larger door - the door of life - will open before you. The world outside is full of opportunities, but also challenges. I believe you have the courage, the wisdom, and the heart to move forward, to go further on your career path, and to write your own success stories.”

He also expressed deep gratitude to the families of students: “As a teacher and administrator, but also as a father myself, I understand the sacrifices you make to send your children here. Every tuition fee represents sweat and tears, the careful savings of parents who only want the best for their children. Thank you for trusting HaUI as a second home. That trust is our greatest motivation to fulfill our mission.”

Speaking on behalf of her peers, Đao Thi Nga, delivered an emotional message of thanks: “We are grateful to our parents, our teachers, our friends, and to ourselves for choosing SMAE at HaUI, choosing a rigorous academic environment that challenged us to grow and become better versions of who we are today. From this moment on, we are no longer students solving exercises; we are professionals facing projects and tasks that impact many lives. I hope all of us will use the knowledge and experience gained here to adapt to new challenges and make our mark as proud graduates of SMAE.”

The ceremony was also a day of family pride. Ms. Danh Thi Huong, mother of graduate Tran Nam Tuan from the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, shared her emotions: “Our whole family came from Hoa Binh province with nearly 20 relatives, including Tuan’s grandfather, who is almost 70. Though we live far away, we always trusted the University and encouraged our son to study hard. Seeing him graduate today fills us with pride and happiness. We sincerely thank HaUI and the teachers who have guided him and all the students on their journey.”

Not only Tuan’s family, but hundreds of families gathered at SMAE on this special day, bringing with them flowers, laughter, and tears of joy. In every smile and embrace was a shared pride in witnessing their children grow into young professionals - ready to carry knowledge, skills, and aspirations into the future.

For more than 900 new engineers and graduates, the graduation ceremony was not the end but the beginning - a moment to transform gratitude into determination, memories into motivation, and knowledge into action. With the values nurtured at SMAE, they now step confidently into a wider world, ready to face challenges, embrace opportunities, and contribute to the progress of industry and society.
