HaUI signs cooperation agreement with Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade
On the afternoon of August 5, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade formalized their collaboration through the signing of a cooperation agreement. This event represents a strategic advancement in fostering institutional linkages in accordance with the orientations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The agreement is expected to strengthen cooperation in scientific research, the development of high-quality human resources, and the practical application of research outcomes in the time ahead.
The working session, chaired by Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, brought together senior leaders from departments, agencies, research institutes, universities, enterprises, and affiliated units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of Hanoi University of Industry took part in the session and proceeded to sign the cooperation agreement, marking the official commencement of the partnership.
The working session recorded numerous insightful opinions and recommendations from participating units, aiming to improve the quality of policy advice and strengthen collaboration in research, training, and the application of scientific outcomes to meet the current needs of the industry and trade sector.

Speaking at the event, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that the integration of strategic research, policy development, and high-quality human resource training is essential to meet the evolving demands of the industry and trade sector. He expressed his expectation that following the working session, participating units would actively implement practical and effective cooperation initiatives that would contribute substantially to the growth of the sector and the overall development of the national economy.
As part of the program, Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade signed cooperation agreements with six key partners: Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM), TH Group, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), Electric Power University (EPU), and the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai Province.

Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, and Dr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Director of Viet Nam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade, officially signed the memorandum of cooperation, signifying a key step forward in establishing a comprehensive and long-term partnership between the two institutions.
Delivering remarks at the signing ceremony, Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc stated: “On behalf of Hanoi University of Industry, I would like to extend our sincere congratulations to the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade on its remarkable accomplishments, particularly its effective role in providing strategic policy advice to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, thereby contributing significantly to the development of the sector and the nation.
There exists considerable potential for collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of scientific and technological research - a key strategic area in which HaUI is currently prioritizing investment and development. With more than 1,100 academic and research staff, 45% of whom hold doctoral degrees, the university is well-positioned to collaborate with the Institute in research, consultancy, policy development, education, and the training of highly qualified human resources. It is our belief that enhanced collaboration among universities and research institutions under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, coupled with the strong capacities of each unit, will foster innovative breakthroughs, generate spillover effects, and make substantive contributions to the sustainable development of both the industry and the nation in the years ahead.”

According to the signed agreement, HaUI and the Institute will jointly implement the following key initiatives:
- Develop and organize training projects and specialized capacity-building programs tailored to practical needs.
- Co-host conferences, seminars, scientific forums, and policy dialogues, and expand cooperation with interdisciplinary partners domestically and internationally.
- Provide consultation, referrals, and guidance for internships and field training for students in relevant fields, ensuring effectiveness and compliance with regulations.
The signing of the cooperation agreement between Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) and Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade marked a key milestone among a series of strategic partnerships established at the conference. This collaboration seeks to foster close linkages between scientific research, policy formulation, and high-level training; paving the way for the development of a highly skilled workforce and the enhancement of scientific and technological capacity in the industry and trade sector, in alignment with the national vision for sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.
