Knowledge, skills, and aspirations: HaUI’s School of Languages and Tourism Graduates step into the future
In the gentle breeze of early autumn, as the nation proudly celebrates the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2), the School of Languages and Tourism (SLT), Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), held a solemn graduation ceremony on the morning of August 17, 2025. The event marked the successful completion of studies for more than 600 graduates of Cohort 16, closing one journey of growth and opening another - equipped with knowledge, skills, and aspirations for international integration.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hong Quan - Party Secretary and Chairman of the University Council of Hanoi University of Industry, and Dr. Hoang Ngoc Tue - Rector of the School of Languages and Tourism (HaUI), presenting certificates of merit and graduation diplomas to outstanding graduates of the 2021-2025 cohort
The four-year journey of these graduates was like a vibrant mosaic of experiences: lectures in classrooms, practice-oriented training modules, professional simulations, internships with enterprises, extracurricular activities, and exchanges with peers both at home and abroad. Despite many challenges, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, the graduates demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and determination - qualities that will accompany them into their professional futures.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thuy Nga, representing the SLT, shared a message of encouragement: “Graduation is not an ending, but the beginning of a new journey. In the fields of languages, tourism, travel, and hospitality, you will face fierce competition and constant transformation. Do not fear change - embrace it as an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to define your own path. Set new goals, persevere, and remember you are never alone - your families, teachers, and colleagues will always be with you.”

On behalf of her peers, Ms. Đoan Thi Huong, a graduate in Tourism, expressed her gratitude: “We began our university life with uncertainty, but after four years, we now stand here with confidence, maturity, and ambition. Everything we experienced at SLT, HaUI is a solid foundation for the future. Thank you to our parents, whose sacrifices made this possible, and to our teachers, who guided us with dedication and patience. Wherever we go, whatever we do - through success or failure - we know that family and alma mater will always be there to welcome us back.”
The success of this cohort demonstrates the School’s strategy of combining academic knowledge with professional practice and advancing the internationalization of education. Standardized curricula aligned with professional qualifications, practice-oriented training modules, enterprise semesters, collaborative projects with partners, and a wide international network have all contributed to shaping graduates who are job-ready from the first day.

From this foundation, the new graduates of the School of Languages and Tourism step confidently into diverse career paths: translators and interpreters, tour guides, travel operators, hotel managers, event coordinators, and language educators. At the same time, they are equipped to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities in the fast-growing service and tourism sectors. Strong language proficiency, digital competence, and professional ethics form the “triple passport” enabling them to integrate globally, work across borders, and thrive in an increasingly international environment.
With more than 600 graduates now stepping into the world, the ceremony was not only a celebration of achievement but also a reaffirmation of HaUI’s commitment to nurturing global citizens - young professionals with knowledge, skills, and aspirations, ready to contribute to Vietnam and the world.
