Bridging education and Industry: HaUI students gain practical career insights
The Faculty of Garment-Textile Technology and Fashion Design at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), in collaboration with Thagaco International Investment Joint Stock Company, organized a workshop on career opportunities for students in the era of smart manufacturing. The event provided valuable industry insights, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the textile and garment sector as it continues to evolve through digital transformation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Speaking at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Le, Dean of the Faculty of Garment-Textile Technology and Fashion Design, highlighted the importance of strengthening connections between academia and industry in preparing students for an increasingly dynamic labor market. She emphasized that practical activities such as workshops play an important role not only in helping students better understand professional working environments and industry expectations but also in encouraging them to continuously develop professional skills, adaptability, and innovative thinking. She also highly appreciated the active partnership and support of Thagaco International Investment JSC in fostering closer cooperation between universities and enterprises, while encouraging students to engage proactively, explore career opportunities, and gain a clearer understanding of workplace requirements in order to better prepare for their future careers.

As part of the program, representatives from Thagaco International Investment Joint Stock Company presented an overview of the company, including its development strategy, production orientation, and workforce demands. As a manufacturing partner of leading international brands including Decathlon, Nike, and Walmart, Thagaco operates modern manufacturing facilities based on smart production models and advanced technologies while maintaining a strong demand for young and adaptable talent.

The program became increasingly dynamic during the interactive discussion session between students and company representatives. Questions relating to professional skills, internship opportunities, recruitment requirements, career pathways, and working in smart manufacturing environments were discussed openly, providing students with practical insights into industry expectations and future career development.

One of the key highlights of the event was the experience-sharing session delivered by Ms. Dong Hai Yen, Head of the Technical Department at Thagaco International Investment JSC and an alumna of HaUI’s Faculty of Garment-Textile Technology and Fashion Design. Reflecting on her journey from university to professional practice, she shared valuable real-world experiences and emphasized the important role that the knowledge foundation and specialized training received at HaUI had played in helping her quickly integrate into the workplace and build her career path.
