HaUI spreads compassion and accompanies students with disabilities
On the occasion of Vietnam Day of People with Disabilities (April 18), Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a meaningful gathering and presented 29 gifts to students with disabilities currently studying at the university. This activity not only reflects the university’s profound care for students with disabilities but also reaffirms HaUI’s strong commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable educational environment.
At Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), supporting students with disabilities is regarded as an essential part of the university’s commitment to comprehensive and sustainable education. The university continuously enhances its infrastructure, fosters an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and implements a wide range of flexible support programs tailored to individual needs. Rather than merely removing barriers, HaUI aims to inspire, empower, and create opportunities for every student to develop with confidence, integrate fully, and affirm their personal value within the academic community.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Thiện, Vice Rector, engaged in sincere conversations, and attentively listened to the thoughts, aspirations, and life experiences of each student. Despite their diverse circumstances, all students shared a common resilience, a strong will to overcome adversity, and a steadfast pursuit of knowledge.
The annual gathering and gift-giving event for students with disabilities at Hanoi University of Industry serves as a meaningful initiative to promote the values of empathy, companionship, and encouragement, empowering students with disabilities to persevere, stay confident, and continue pursuing their dreams
In his remarks, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Thiện stated: “You are among those who must exert extraordinary efforts to integrate into university life. I firmly believe that, with perseverance and determination, you will continue to grow, acquire knowledge, and develop essential life skills. The university’s leadership, lecturers, and student community will always accompany and support you throughout your educational journey.”

He also emphasized the responsibility of relevant departments, particularly Student Affairs Department, the Student Support Center, youth and student organizations, and academic advisors to maintain close communication with each student with disabilities, ensuring timely intervention and appropriate assistance when challenges arise.
Each gift, though modest in material value, carried deep meaning as a symbol of empathy and encouragement. These tokens represent the university’s heartfelt support and are intended to inspire confidence, perseverance, and optimism in every student.
Nguyễn Thị Thu Hằng, a student from Korean Studies Class 1, Cohort 18, shared: “We truly feel the care and support from the university, our lecturers, and peers. These gifts are not only material contributions but also a great source of spiritual encouragement. We promise to work even harder to live up to the expectations and affection that we have received.”
