A remarkable journey of two Polish students at Hanoi University of Industry

Kubiak Mateusz Wiktor and Nikityn Natalia Katarzyna, two students from Poland, have built an inspiring academic and personal journey at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), where they chose to spend some of the most important years of their lives.

Arriving in Vietnam with a strong curiosity about the country and its culture, Mateusz and Natalia enrolled in the Vietnamese Language and Culture program at the School of Languages and Tourism, HaUI. Their studies began during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic, yet they quickly adapted thanks to the supportive learning environment and close guidance from the lecturers.

Vietnamese is a complex language for foreign learners, but both students approached their studies with determination and discipline. Through regular practice, classroom engagement, and real-life experiences, they gradually developed strong language skills and a deep understanding of Vietnamese society and traditions.

Their efforts were recognized in 2025, when both graduated with Excellent degrees. This achievement reflects not only their academic ability but also their genuine respect for Vietnamese culture and their commitment to long-term learning.

Beyond the classroom, Mateusz and Natalia demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit. While still students, they launched a startup project focused on trading and exporting Vietnamese agricultural products. Seeing the growing demand for Vietnamese coffee and tropical fruits in Europe, they aim to connect Vietnamese producers with markets in Poland and other European countries.

Their business initiative is supported by their cultural knowledge, language proficiency, and practical experience gained at HaUI. It also highlights how international students can contribute positively to economic and cultural exchange.

For the two graduates, HaUI is more than an educational institution. It is where they developed professionally, built lasting friendships, and formed a life partnership. Sharing similar goals and supporting each other throughout their studies, Mateusz and Natalia gradually grew from classmates into life partners.

In October 2025, they celebrated their wedding, marking a new chapter in their journey together. The story of Mateusz and Natalia reflects the international spirit of Hanoi University of Industry and its commitment to creating an inclusive, globally oriented learning environment. It also sends a clear message to young people: stepping outside one’s comfort zone can lead to meaningful growth, new opportunities, and lasting connections.
