HaUI welcomes Biel Crystal: A Strategic move for High-Tech workforce development

On December 23, leaders from Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) welcomed a delegation from Biel Crystal Manufactory Ltd., a global leader in optical technology, to discuss a strategic partnership aimed at developing a high-quality workforce for the semiconductor and precision engineering sectors.

Biel Crystal, renowned for its evolution from crafting exquisite Swiss watch glasses to becoming the dominant supplier of optical glass for mobile devices (replacing plastic in the early 2000s), is a key partner for industry titans like Apple, Samsung, and Tesla. With massive manufacturing complexes in Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, the company has an urgent demand for skilled engineers in automation, robotics, precision mechanics, and chemical engineering.

Presiding over the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of HaUI, highlighted the university's recent elevation to a "University System" model. Backed by a 127-year history and a strong tradition in engineering technology, Mr. Dong affirmed that HaUI is fully equipped to meet the rigorous practical and professional standards required by FDI enterprises.

The discussion centered on innovative training models. Biel Crystal proposed joint international programs (2+2, 3+1) linking HaUI with Chinese universities. Under this initiative, students would benefit from full tuition sponsorship, internships on cutting-edge production lines, and guaranteed employment post-graduation. This model aims to immerse students in an international industrial environment while enhancing their foreign language proficiency.
