The fashion show introduced a series of impressive collections that demonstrated artistic originality and meticulous research. Notably, many collections reflected a profound return to cultural roots, reinterpreting traditional values through the lens of contemporary fashion. Among the highlights was “Xe Duyen”, inspired by the Đông Hồ woodblock prints “Ông Tơ” and “Bà Nguyệt,” symbolizing love and destiny. The collection skillfully transformed traditional imagery into sophisticated fashion language. Similarly, “Phượng Trầu” paid tribute to the sacred Vietnamese wedding tradition of phoenix-wing betel leaves, presented through exquisite bridal designs. Other collections such as “Diệp Phong”, inspired by palm-leaf fans; “Dạ Mộc Liên Hoa”, reimagining lotus flowers from lacquer paintings; and “1 LINE”, exploring the art of calligraphy, showcased a harmonious blend of heritage and innovation, elevating cultural narratives into wearable art.
Beyond showcasing artistic creativity, the students demonstrated a high level of professional competence through their market-oriented fashion collections. Each project was supported by thorough market research, clearly defined customer segments, and comprehensive technical documentation. The trial production stages further impressed with their feasibility and strong potential for commercialization. By addressing a variety of target markets, including office wear, sportswear, and outerwear, the collections reflected a keen awareness of industry trends and consumer preferences. This affirmed the students’ readiness to transition confidently into the professional fashion industry.
The graduation fashion show of Cohort 16 concluded successfully, leaving lasting impressions and emotions. It served as a compelling testament to the quality of education at the Faculty of Garment - Textile Technology and Fashion Design, Hanoi University of Industry. These young designers have proven their capability to harmonize national identity with global trends, combining imaginative creativity with practical insights into consumer behavior. Their achievements open new horizons for the sustainable development of Vietnam’s fashion industry where tradition inspires innovation, and cultural pride shapes a bold, modern vision.
