Hanoi University of Industry and Nanning University (China) sign strategic cooperation agreement to advance scientific research and specialized training

On the morning of June 10, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) had the honor of welcoming a high-level delegation from Nanning University, China. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations, with a particular focus on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between the two institutions. The agreement paves the way for further development in the fields of education and scientific research, in which both universities hold strong capabilities.

In his welcome address, Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc, Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, expressed his delight at receiving the delegation from Nanning University. He emphasized that, although this was the first formal cooperation agreement between the two universities, a strong foundation had already been laid through prior academic and professional exchanges. Dr. Thuc affirmed that the MoU would serve as a solid basis for deepening collaboration through joint training programs, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative research initiatives. He also highlighted HaUI’s core strengths in applied education and scientific research, particularly in high-tech engineering and economics, which are key areas the university is actively developing to foster innovation and global integration.

Professor Tan underscored the cultural affinity and geographic proximity between Guangxi Province and Hanoi, noting that these factors present favorable conditions for sustained and effective cooperation. He further outlined Nanning University’s expertise in digital economics, transportation, and applied engineering, expressing hope that both universities would capitalize on their respective strengths to jointly develop impactful educational and research programs.

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in substantive discussions, focusing on key areas such as applied science, technology, and interdisciplinary research. Both institutions affirmed their commitment to fostering high-impact collaboration through joint degree programs, academic exchanges, and co-sponsored research projects in fields such as the digital economy, logistics, mechanical and automotive engineering, and business management—domains in which both universities possess strong academic resources and state-of-the-art facilities.
