2025-2026 Opening Ceremony: A remarkable start for Hanoi University of Industry's freshmen

Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) inaugurated the 2025–2026 academic year with a solemn Opening Ceremony, welcoming more than 8,000 freshmen of Cohort 20 into the university community.

At the Hanoi and Ninh Binh campuses, thousands of students joined the nationwide back-to-school spirit by attending the live broadcast of the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam’s Education Sector and the National Opening Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition to marking the beginning of a new journey for the freshmen, this year's Opening Ceremony strongly demonstrated the connection between the university's mission and the broader development goals of the national education system.

Through a live broadcast on VTV1, the academic community of HaUI observed a momentous address by General Secretary To Lam, which underscored education’s pillar role in the cause of national construction and development. The General Secretary proceeded to delineate nine strategic directions, urging the education sector to advance its comprehensive reforms in order to nurture generations of citizens possessing intellect, courage, and patriotism.

The General Secretary outlined nine strategic orientations:

- Innovating mindsets and actions, guided by the principles of quality, equity, integration, and efficiency.

- Ensuring equal access to education, with priority for disadvantaged regions, while raising overall literacy.

- Reforming general education comprehensively, focusing not only on knowledge but also on character, physical development, and civic responsibility.

- Creating breakthroughs in higher and vocational education, developing universities of regional and international stature.

- Expanding international integration in education through cooperation, joint programs, and academic exchanges.

- Building a dedicated and exemplary teaching and educational management workforce to inspire future generations.

- Promoting digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education.

- Prioritizing investment in education as an investment in the nation’s future.

- Advancing lifelong learning to ensure continuous mastery of knowledge and technology.

On this meaningful first day of the academic year, thousands of HaUI freshmen shared the same heartbeat of pride and inspiration as they looked toward the future.

Expressing his feelings, Doan Nguyen Cuong, a freshman in Information Security, said that the student representative’s speech filled him with pride and responsibility: “I realized that this journey is not only my own but also part of a greater mission, carrying the future of the nation on my shoulders.”

Nguyen Thuy Dung, a freshman in Business Administration, shared that the Rector’s message left a profound impression on her. His words about embracing challenges and viewing failures as opportunities for growth instilled in her a renewed sense of confidence and motivation. What resonated with her most was his emphasis on self-initiative, which inspired her to approach her academic journey at HaUI with determination and the aspiration to shape her own meaningful story.

Evolving from the shared pride of the nation to the individual aspirations of each student, the Opening Ceremony of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) for the 2025–2026 academic year transcended the bounds of a traditional commencement event. It became a profound source of inspiration, a unifying celebration of purpose, and a symbolic milestone that provided Cohort 20 freshmen with both a firm foundation and a meaningful point of departure for their forthcoming academic and personal journeys.
