A Celebration of Joy and Unity: The "Traditional Games – Strengthening Bonds" Festival on International Women’s Day
Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) celebrated International Women’s Day with energy and enthusiasm at the “Folk Festival – Connecting with Love” competition on 8 March 2026. The event brought together staff and lecturers in a vibrant showcase of teamwork, skill, and community spirit.
Team 8, representing the Faculty of Political Theory and Law, Faculty of Basic Sciences, the Science and Technology Department, the Department of External Relations, the Education Inspection Department, and the HaUI Institute of Technology, set a new record in the cup transfer game by successfully moving 40 paper cups using only straws within five minutes. With strong performances throughout the competition, Team 8 ultimately earned theoverall first prize.

Mr. Phạm Văn Đông, Vice Rector of HaUI, extended warm congratulations to female staff, lecturers, and students, praising their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to the university’s mission. Fresh flower bouquets were presented to women across the university, with the Women’s Union receiving them on behalf of the community.

Mr. Lê Hồng Quân, President of HaUI’s Trade Union, emphasized that the event aimed to strengthen unity, foster understanding, and encourage collaboration among staff members. He highlighted that the competition also promotes physical fitness, enhances well-being, and spreads positive energy throughout the university.

The competition featured eight teams from various Women’s Union branches and departmental unions, each bringing determination and creativity to the five events: tug-of-war, sack race relay, cup transfer, synchronized team steps, and the traditional Thai ball-throwing game.

The gymnasium erupted with cheers as audiences watched thrilling moments of competition. Team 3 from the Faculty of Economics, Administration Office, Viet-Nhat Center, and Automotive Technology & Driver Training Center staged a dramatic comeback to win the tug-of-war. The sack race relay tested speed and coordination, while the synchronized team steps required participants to move in unison across obstacles, producing laughter and excitement.
The Thai traditional ball-throwing game created intense suspense, with Teams 2, 5, 6, and 8 competing in a tense tie-break round to determine the winners.
