HaUI students make their mark at Global Fashion Week All Stars 2026
Six collections by Hanoi University of Industry students brought cultural heritage, architectural inspiration and future-facing design to an international runway.
Held from 30 July to 2 August 2026 at the Vietnam Exposition Center in Hanoi, Global Fashion Week All Stars 2026 brought together designers, models and international beauty titleholders in a vibrant celebration of fashion and cultural exchange.
On the evening of 2 August, six outstanding collections by students from the Faculty of Garment-Textile Technology and Fashion Design at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) were presented as part of the event’s Student community. Together, they offered a compelling blend of cultural heritage, architectural influence, natural beauty and futuristic imagination.
In Ethereal, student designer Hoang Thi Khanh Chi drew inspiration from the Frauenkirche in Germany. The grandeur and spiritual atmosphere of the historic church were translated into sculptural silhouettes, voluminous skirts and embossed brocade. Rather than simply recreating architectural details, the collection transformed their visual rhythm and monumentality into an elegant contemporary language.
The extraordinary landscape of Bolivia’s salt flats found a striking fashion expression in SALARI by Vu Thi Bich Hanh. Exaggerated proportions and distinctive textured surfaces evoked the vastness, raw beauty and almost otherworldly character of the Salar de Uyuni. The collection demonstrated how a natural landscape can become more than a visual reference-it can shape form, material and emotion.
Vietnamese heritage took centre stage in two collections inspired by the Khai Dinh Mausoleum, one of the country’s most remarkable architectural legacies. In Uy Linh, Doan Thi Diem reinterpreted the image of the “Nine Dragons Hidden in Clouds,” an iconic motif associated with the mausoleum, through flowing white eveningwear crafted from organza and lace. The lightness of the materials created a sense of movement and ethereality, allowing a traditional symbol to take on a graceful new life on the runway.
Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan approached the same heritage from a different perspective in Van Manh. Inspired by the mausoleum’s intricate ceramic and porcelain mosaic art, the collection combined regal gold tones with sophisticated three-dimensional construction. Fragmented decorative elements were reassembled into contemporary silhouettes, suggesting that heritage is not a static inheritance but a living source of creative possibility.
Looking towards the future, Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh’s BEYOND HORIZON ventured into the imaginative world of space exploration. Inspired by the Mir space station, the collection embraced an energetic streetwear aesthetic, defined by bold oversized silhouettes and a distinctly futuristic attitude. It reflected the curiosity and freedom of a generation whose creative horizons extend far beyond geographical and disciplinary boundaries.
Bringing a softer rhythm to the runway, Pham Minh Thu’s Rêve Nouveau - A New Dream celebrated the romance and organic beauty of Art Nouveau. Fluid draping, gentle lines and poetic nature-inspired motifs gave the collection a dreamlike quality. Its refined femininity offered a thoughtful counterpoint to the stronger architectural and futuristic statements elsewhere in the student showcase.
Each collection expressed a distinctive creative identity while demonstrating the students’ ability to transform research, cultural observation and personal imagination into coherent design narratives.
Their presence at Global Fashion Week All Stars 2026 marked an important step in their artistic and professional development. It also reflected HaUI’s commitment to connecting technical education with creativity and real-world experience.
