Igniting Innovation: HaUI students prepare for the AI-Powered Accounting landscape

In the context of rapid technological transformation, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping entire industries, students of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) are actively adapting to the new wave of change. The recent seminar titled "Accounting - Auditing in the Age of AI", organized by the School of Economics at HaUI, provided both a practical lens and inspirational insights to help students prepare for the digital future of their profession.

More than just an academic forum, the seminar served as a valuable platform for students majoring in Accounting and Auditing to update their understanding of industry trends, identify essential future-ready skills, and shape their career paths in the digital era.

Delivering an overview of digital transformation in the accounting and auditing sectors, Mr. Bui Manh Quan - Deputy Director of Tax & Advisory Services at RSM Vietnam (Ha Nam Branch) - presented on the topic “The Application of Technology in Accounting and Auditing in the AI Era.” He emphasized that major auditing firms are increasingly digitizing business processes, from data collection and processing to risk analysis and financial reporting. However, he also pointed out existing challenges in the adoption process. “Technology will not replace humans,” Mr. Quan affirmed, “but it will enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the depth of analysis in accounting and auditing.”

Offering a student-centered perspective, Mr. Duong Quoc Hung - Director of IPA Auditing Company (Hanoi Branch) - discussed “What Students Need to Prepare for Careers in Accounting and Auditing in the AI Era.” His talk focused on practical guidance, underlining the importance for students to not only master core professional knowledge but also develop technological proficiency, data analysis capabilities, and most importantly, adaptive, creative, and lifelong learning mindsets.

Adding a unique voice to the dialogue, student Ngo Thi Thu Ha presented her report titled “When Gen Z Meets AI: A Student’s Perspective on Digital Transformation and Self-Renewal in Accounting and Auditing.” Her message was clear and compelling: transformation is not solely about technology - it begins with an individual’s mindset, a willingness to innovate, and the ambition to grow.

With insights from industry experts and fresh perspectives from their peers, HaUI students left the seminar feeling empowered. The event not only enriched their academic understanding but also nurtured a spirit of confidence, creativity, and global readiness.
