Hanoi University of Industry and College of Industrial Techniques : A Collaborative exchange on autonomy and training innovation

On the morning of October 14, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) warmly welcomed a delegation from College of Industrial Techniques for a working session focused on sharing experiences in curriculum development, innovation, institutional autonomy, and the establishment of university-based enterprises.

The meeting aimed to exchange insights and best practices in governance reform and institutional autonomy, as well as in developing training programs tailored to social and labor market demands. It also provided an opportunity to explore the university enterprise model as a sustainable approach to integrating education, research, and technology transfer within a unified development framework.

During the session, the Rector of Hanoi University of Industry delivered an overview of HaUI’s transformation journey in reforming its governance model and implementing comprehensive autonomy across organizational, financial, academic, and research domains. Representatives from HaUI’s functional units also shared valuable insights into developing industry-driven curricula, launching new academic programs, and fostering partnerships with enterprises to enhance students’ practical training and internship experiences.

A major highlight of the session was HaUI’s introduction of the university–enterprise model, which drew great interest from the visiting delegation. The model creates a dynamic link between education and production, enabling students to apply their knowledge in real working environments, strengthen their professional skills, and expand opportunities for internships and employment both domestically and internationally.

HaUI’s Labour Supplying and Training Company Limited (LETCO), established on November 29, 2000, serves as a prominent example of this model’s success. Over the past 24 years, LETCO has enabled nearly 30,000 Vietnamese workers and students to study and work in countries such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Germany. Despite the increasing demands and challenges of international labor markets, LETCO has maintained its strong reputation as one of Vietnam’s leading enterprises in labor export and overseas study consultancy, earning a distinguished 5-star rating from the Vietnam Association of Manpower Supply.
