HaUI and Nissan Automotive Technology Vietnam forge stronger ties and broader cooperation
On the afternoon of October 10, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), had a working session with the leadership of Nissan Automotive Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. (NATV). The meeting reaffirmed the strong, substantive, and effective partnership between the two sides and opened new prospects for deeper, multidimensional cooperation in the future.
Overview of the working session
Since 2014, HaUI and NATV have successfully implemented numerous joint programs, most notably the "Nissan Talent Class," which has attracted over 700 students. Annually, NATV welcomes more than 100 HaUI students for practical experiences and provides intensive 3-6 month internships for approximately 50 students.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Vice Rector of HaUI, praised the effectiveness of the bilateral cooperation, affirming the university's commitment to a training model closely linked with practical application and expanding high-quality employment opportunities for students. He emphasized that the university-enterprise partnership model offers dual benefits: companies recruit high-caliber talent, while the university stays current with practical knowledge and effectively connects with the labor market.

In response, Mr. Ichikawa Hiroyuki, Deputy General Director of NATV, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from Hanoi University of Industry and highly valued the proactive attitude, professionalism, and technical competence of HaUI students. He noted that more than 800 HaUI alumni are currently employed at NATV, with many of them holding senior management positions, which demonstrates their talent, dedication, and outstanding performance.
The dialogue culminated in a mutual agreement to fortify existing collaborations. Both parties committed to enhancing opportunities for facility tours and internships, particularly for students in the disciplines of Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, and Automation Engineering, to align with NATV's forthcoming strategic direction. It was also agreed that experts from NATV would be invited to contribute to HaUI's curriculum development and instructional processes.

In delineating future strategic endeavors, the dialogue between HaUI and NATV centered on several pivotal initiatives:
First, a proposal was tabled for a Faculty Secondment Program, which would enable HaUI lecturers to undertake short-term professional assignments at NATV. Under this model, NATV would identify specific domains, roles, or projects, and HaUI would nominate faculty members with the most relevant expertise and qualifications.
Second, discussions were held regarding the potential sponsorship of specialized training software and the prospective establishment of a joint HaUI-NATV Training Center. Both institutions endorsed a "research-on-demand" framework to address corporate challenges and agreed to explore scholarships and facility endowments to create an optimal learning ecosystem for students.
The session concluded with a shared commitment from both HaUI and NATV to proceed with detailed negotiations. This will culminate in the signing of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) founded on the principle of mutual benefit, with both parties pledging their utmost effort to realize future collaborations and foster an optimal development environment for students.
