Elsevier releases the ninth edition of the 2026 global database of the world’s most influential scientists
On October 7, 2026, the ninth edition of the Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators was released. Compiled by a research team at Stanford University in the United States using data from Elsevier’s Scopus database, the 2026 edition evaluates researchers’ scientific impact through standardised citation indicators, drawing on citation data from 2025 and Scopus data updated in 2026.
The assessment incorporates several indicators of research impact, including total citations, the H-index, the hm-index, and a composite c-score. These indicators are calculated both with and without self-citations, providing a more comprehensive basis for evaluating the influence of individual researchers and their scholarly contributions within the international research community.
In the latest edition, three HaUI scientists maintained their presence in the global rankings, each recording an improvement over the previous year. Their achievements demonstrate the increasing reach of HaUI’s research across multiple disciplines and reinforce the university’s commitment to advancing academic excellence.
