International Day of Happiness on March 20 offers a moment for reflection on the values that truly matter. At Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), happiness is never an abstract concept. Thu Uyên, a third-year Tourism student, engages fully with the rhythms of daily student life. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Bình from the School of Information and Communication Technology defines happiness through contribution. “Happiness for a researcher or educator is not measured by external achievements, but by moments of discovering new knowledge and seeing understanding in students’ eyes. It emerges when a small idea in the laboratory develops into a meaningful contribution to society, and when young generations are inspired with values of integrity, perseverance, and a desire to contribute. Science can be demanding and teaching challenging, yet the journey of learning, teaching, and sharing offers a profound and lasting form of happiness. I hope today’s students will find joy in learning and creating, as that is the most direct path to a meaningful life,” says Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Bình.

Surveys consistently show that satisfaction with HaUI’s cultural environment remains high, exceeding 85%. The university aims to achieve self-assessment results in organizational learning and innovation culture, following the EFQM model, of 80% or above.
