On April 19, 2026, surpassing hundreds of projects nationwide, a student team from Hanoi University of Industry advanced to the final round of the 8th National Startup Day for Students (SV.STARTUP 2026). Their project, HAutoML, was awarded a Consolation Prize at the national level, recognizing sustained research efforts and reflecting the University’s strategic orientation toward science, technology, and innovation driven development.

As Vietnam implements major policies on educational reform, including the national initiative to position English as a second language in schools for the 2025–2035 period with a vision toward 2045, improving the quality of English language teaching and learning has become a key priority. Hanoi University of Industry has announced a major expansion of its educational offerings for the 2026 to 2027 academic year. HaUI will enroll students across 72 full time undergraduate programs, prominently featuring five new majors in cutting edge technology sectors and 15 programs taught entirely in English.

As air pollution becomes an increasingly urgent challenge in urban and industrial areas, developing domestic capabilities in environmental monitoring technology holds significant scientific and practical importance. In response to this need, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien and his research team at Hanoi University of Industry undertook a ministerial-level project assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade: “Research and design of a large-scale AQI monitoring system based on LoRa/IoT technology,” implemented from April 2021 to December 2022, with the goal of developing a commercially viable solution.

On the morning of January 6, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish 01 Strong Research Group and 11 Potential Research Groups. The IT Festival - AI Horizon 2025, organized by the School of Information and Communications Technology (SICT) at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), concluded its month-long series of events with a Gala ceremony on the evening of December 26.
