Scientific Seminar "Software Engineering and Data Science"

On June 25th, 2021, the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), Hanoi University of Industry organized an online scientific seminar with the theme "Software Technology and Data Science". The seminar collected 40 quality scientific papers of FIT’s lecturers.

Dr. Dang Trong Hop - Dean of the Faculty of IT delivered his opening remarks: “The seminar is an annual forum of FIT for those engaged in research, teaching and management in the field of information technology. It creates an opportunity for lecturers and scientists to exchange academic knowledge and share applied experiences. The seminar encourages the introduction of applied research results into practice”.

The event is also a scientific platform to discuss new topics in Software Engineering and Data Science, modern issues and approaches of IT and to exchange expertise on teaching models and methods in the trend of digital transformation.

Sub-Committee-6: Artificial intelligence and smart computing

The seminar took place with a plenary session (04 papers) and six sub-committees with 36 selected papers to be presented. Specifically: Sub-Committee-1: Software technology and applications (05 papers); Sub-Committee-2: Complex Systems (05 papers); Sub-Committee-3: Robotic and Virtual Reality (06 papers); Sub-Committee-4: Information safety and security (05 papers); Sub-Committee-5: Communications and computer networks (05 papers) and Sub-Committee-6: Artificial intelligence and smart computing (10 papers).

According to the Organizing Committee, the peer-reviewed scientific articles are rich in content and diverse in research issues towards the central topic of the seminar, all of which are valuable for reference in both scientific and technical aspects.

The seminar collected 40 quality scientific papers of FIT’s lecturers

Dr. Tran Hung Cuong with the paper “Application of DC and DCA for Indefinite Quadratic Programming” won the best paper award. In this research, the author presented an overview of DC programming and DCA. Dr. Cuong has demonstrated the convergence; asymptotic stability of the DCA sequence generated by algorithm B, and analyzed the influence of the decay parameter on the convergence speed of both algorithms A and B.

This is the 2nd scientific seminar of the FIT in the academic year 2020 - 2021. Previously, on December 25th, 2020, the first seminar with the theme "Digital transformation in development of Smart-University” has taken place successfully.
