HaUI strengthens international student engagement through Ambassador program

Lively conversations, cultural stories and enthusiastic smiles filled Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) as international students gathered for a welcome and networking event marking the launch of the International Student Ambassador Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Bringing together students from different cultural backgrounds, the event provided a platform for sharing experiences, building friendships and strengthening a sense of belonging within HaUI’s growing international community.

Overview of the event

Addressing the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tien Dat, Deputy Head of the Department of External Affairs at HaUI, highlighted the significance of introducing the university’s first official cohort of International Student Ambassadors. Comprising 22 students from eight countries, the group represents a new step in strengthening student support and fostering an open, inclusive and student-centred learning environment.

HaUI currently welcomes more than 120 full-time international students from eight countries, reflecting the university’s growing international reach. Recognizing the challenges of adapting to a new language, culture and living environment, HaUI is committed to providing support that helps students settle in, explore their potential and make the most of their university experience in Vietnam.

The formal introduction of the International Student Ambassadors was a key moment of the program. The 22 ambassadors will represent the voices of international students, help newcomers adjust to campus life, encourage intercultural engagement and share their experiences of studying at HaUI.

Their role extends beyond welcoming fellow students. By connecting students with the university and fostering relationships across national and cultural boundaries, the ambassadors will contribute to a more inclusive campus community while sharing HaUI’s international learning environment with audiences beyond the university.

International students from Kenya, the Philippines, Laos and other countries share their experiences at HaUI

The exchange offered international students a chance to reflect on their experiences at HaUI, from the support and guidance of lecturers to the modern learning environment and friendships formed across cultures. Their questions about Christmas celebrations, New Year festivities and upcoming cultural activities sparked further conversations with university representatives, highlighting their enthusiasm for campus life and their desire to engage more deeply with the HaUI community.

Through shared experiences and meaningful conversations, the event strengthened connections among international students and fostered a deeper sense of belonging within the HaUI community. The launch of the International Student Ambassador Program reflects HaUI’s ongoing commitment to building an inclusive, internationally connected learning environment where cultural diversity enriches campus life, mutual understanding flourishes and every student has the opportunity to grow and contribute.
