Hanoi University of Industry inspires young innovators through STEM, Robotics, and AI activities
On May 9, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry organized the STEM - Robotics - AI Experience Day and Admissions Consultation Program at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, bringing a dynamic and inspiring academic environment to students and teachers in Phu Tho Province. The program reflected the University’s commitment to promoting innovation, digital competencies, and scientific curiosity among younger generations in the context of rapid technological transformation.
The event was co-chaired by Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, and Dr. Dao Manh Thang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted.

Returning to Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted nearly four decades after graduating as a Mathematics major student of the 1984–1987 cohort, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien shared his deep connection with the school while expressing his aspiration to inspire students to pursue innovation and confidently embrace the opportunities of the digital era. In his remarks, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are becoming decisive drivers of national development. Referring to the Party’s major policies on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and education reform, he highlighted the urgent need to cultivate high-quality human resources capable of adapting to the demands of a rapidly changing global landscape. According to him, digital skills, creative thinking, and the ability to innovate will serve as essential foundations for young people to contribute meaningfully to society in the years ahead.

With a development history spanning 128 years, Hanoi University of Industry continues to affirm a pioneering role among Vietnam’s leading application-oriented university systems, particularly in training high-quality human resources for strategic industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, automation, and smart manufacturing.
Representing the host institution, Mr. Phung Hoang Hai, Vice Principal of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, highly appreciated the close coordination among the participating units and expressed his admiration for the expertise and professionalism demonstrated by the specialists from Hanoi University of Industry. He emphasized that the program had provided students with an inspiring and practice-oriented learning environment, where they were encouraged to engage with robotics programming, AI applications, and emerging technologies. Through these activities, students were able to cultivate creative thinking, strengthen digital competencies, and develop the essential skills required for future generations in the digital era.

The event featured a wide range of practice-oriented activities that attracted enthusiastic participation from both students and teachers. Participants were introduced to practical AI applications in education, prompt engineering techniques, and interactive technology challenges. The atmosphere became especially vibrant during the Mini Robot Competition and AI Challenge, where outstanding teams from the school’s Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics specialized classes, as well as the Informatics Club, demonstrated their creativity and technical capabilities.

The program was attended by Dr. Than Thanh Son, Head of the Academic Affairs Department of Hanoi University of Industry; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Head of the General Administration Department; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Manh Kha, Principal of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, Principal of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering; and Dr. Dang Trong Hop, Principal of the School of Information and Communications Technology.
In addition to the hands-on activities, experts from Hanoi University of Industry shared valuable insights into emerging workforce trends and the rapid transformation of global smart manufacturing. Through discussions on fields such as electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and automotive engineering, and information technology, students were provided with a clearer understanding of future career opportunities and the increasing demand for highly skilled human resources in the technology sector.
As part of its long-term commitment to fostering scientific and technological passion among high school students, Hanoi University of Industry presented Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted with STEM and robotics equipment developed by the University’s lecturers and students. The donation is expected to provide students with greater opportunities for hands-on learning and early exposure to engineering and technology, helping to nurture future generations of innovators and technology leaders.
