Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary visits HaUI

On March 16, 2010, the Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam, H.E. Mitsuo Sakaba, paid a working visit to Hanoi University of Industry.

Accompanying the Ambassador were Mr. Hideyuki Shiraishi – Secretary of the Ambassador, Mr. Toshio Nagase – Deputy Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam office, Mr. Hayashida Takayuki – senior expert of JICA Vietnam office.

Receiving the Ambassador were Mr. Hoang Van Dien, Rector of HaUI, Mr. Ha Xuan Quang, Vice Rector of HaUI, Mr. Mori, JICA expert of JICA – HaUI project, and leaders of Administrative Department, International cooperation department, Training department, Science and technology department, Faculty of Automobile engineering, VJC, Letco company…

On behalf of HaUI, the Rector presented some general information about establishment and development history of HaUI, also reviewed the great contribution made by Japanese Gov and people to the development of HaUI during the past time.

The Rector also expressed his gladness to welcome Mr. Sakaba to visit HaUI, and sincerely thanked Japanese Gov for the continuous investment in HaUI through the technical cooperation project in the period 2009 – 2012, aiming to develop human resources of technicians at HaUI by ODA.

Mr. Dien also expected that in the coming time, the Ambassador would create favorable conditions and call for Japanese enterprises, governmental units of Japan…to invest in HaUI, help the university develop more.

At the meeting, Mr. Dien stated “HaUI is a special training model which helps enable the Modernization – Industrialization strategy of Vietnam. The University not only provides manpower to enterprises in Vietnam, but to other countries as well, in which Japanese enterprises play as important counterparts. Thus, further development of cooperation with Japanese side is our expectation”.

Mr. Sakaba highly appreciated the high esteem treatment from HaUI and expressed his goodwill to make contribution to close tie between Japanese government and Vietnamese government, and as a results it is possible to have more projects at HaUI in near future.

In regard of the Project for Human Resource Development of Technicians at HaUI (HaUI – JICA project), the Ambassador believes that the Project will make noticeable contribution to the improvement of training ability, as well as quality of technicians in Vietnam. Moreover, through the project, the mutual understanding and relationship between Vietnam and Japan will be deepened.
